If you’re up for an adventurous treasure hunt in Avowed, the Intimidating Feline Codpiece is a hidden prize worth tracking down. Located in a remote cave east of Dawnshore, beneath Watcher’s Mirror, this treasure isn’t easy to reach. You will have to make a big diversion around Paradis and tread very carefully through Yellowband Camp, which is infested with bandits. You will experience hard terrain, secret trails, and the odd hostile encounter on the way, but the payoff, the powerful medium armor set Stelgaer’s Pride, is worth it. Whether you’re looking for a strong armor piece early in the game or just enjoy the thrill of treasure hunting, this quest is one you won’t be able to miss.
Intimidating Feline Codpiece Location
The Intimidating Feline Codpiece treasure is hidden in a small cave far east of Dawnshore, beneath Watcher’s Mirror. However, getting there isn’t straightforward, you will need to take a long detour around Paradis before reaching Yellowband Camp. Since the treasure lies in a ravine, the only way down is by approaching from the south.
Begin at Claviger’s Landing, travel north, and make your way around Paradis to Yellowband Camp. Be careful, as the region is held by bandits and contains a bounty target, so it’s prudent to try and avoid combat where possible.
Reaching the Treasure Chamber
Once you arrive at Yellowband Camp, go east until you come across the edge of the ravine. A giant skeleton embedded in the side of the cliff will be an indicator that you are there.
From there, turn north and climb up the ledge, following the rugged mountain path. Eventually, you will come across a boarded-up chamber. Break through the barricade with your weapon, and inside, you will find the long-sought treasure chest.
While you are in the area, you might also want to pick up the Ondra’s Kiss flower, which is needed for another quest. To find it, head south from the gates outside Yellowband Camp. Additionally, you can track down the Totem of Rightful Rulership fragment nearby in Usher’s Hand for another valuable find.
As a thank you for your efforts in finding the treasure map, you will get the Stelgaer’s Pride armor set, a showy and fairly unique-looking set of armor. Although it looks flashy, it’s a decent medium armor option, particularly if you can get it early on in the game. In addition to the armor, you will also gain handy crafting materials and coins, making this treasure definitely worth going out of your way to find, even if you have no intention of wearing the armor itself.
