Avowed Godlike Skills – Abilities and Choices

Avowed’s Godlike Abilities offer powerful boons tied to story choices and exploration. These abilities, both active and passive, provide significant advantages, but often come with a difficult decision: accept the power, or gain an extra Ability Point instead? This trade-off, along with passive abilities discovered by finding character memories, adds strategic depth to character building.

Godlike Skills in Avowed

In Avowed, you’ll gain some incredibly powerful abilities called “Godlike Abilities” as you progress through the main story. These aren’t like regular abilities you have to spend points on; instead, they’re tied to key moments in the narrative and the choices you make. Think of them as rewards for pivotal decisions.

There are two types: Active Godlike Abilities, which you can use in combat and assign to your hotbar, and Passive Godlike Abilities, which provide constant boosts like more health or damage. So, by playing through the story and making the right choices, you’ll automatically unlock these potent powers.

Godlike Skills – Abilities and Choices

In Avowed, when The Voice (or Sapadal) offers you a Godlike Power, you have a choice. If you decide to turn it down, you’ll get an extra Ability Point instead. So, you need to weigh your options: is the special Godlike Power worth it, or would you rather have the flexibility of an extra Ability Point to spend as you like? It’s all about deciding what’s more valuable to your playstyle.

Here’s a breakdown of the Godlike Abilities in Avowed, including their effects and how to unlock them:

Starting Ability:

  • Divine Thorn (Passive):

Lets you perform stealth attacks on unaware enemies when crouched behind them. It also summons a powerful energy lance for massive damage. You start with this one.
