Finality’s Auger in Destiny 2
Finality’s Auger is a Solar linear fusion rifle with a cool trick: it can create a turret! Its special perk, Runescribe’s Forge, lets you summon a turret by holding down the Reload button to charge it with three Heavy ammo, then firing straight up. This turret acts like a Warlock’s Bleak Watcher, automatically targeting and shooting nearby enemies. It’ll disappear after a while, though.
The turret also has a secondary perk called Runescribe’s Beacon. While the turret is active, you can “paint” targets with the Auger, making the turret extra powerful against those specific enemies.
And there’s more! You can switch the Auger between its regular laser mode and a special mode while the turret is active by holding Reload. If you hold Reload without a turret active, it’ll prime the weapon to fire a turret instead.
How to get Finality’s Auger
Want to snag the Finality’s Auger Exotic? You’ll need to dive into the Sundered Doctrine dungeon. First, you’ll need the Final Shape Dungeon Key, which you can grab for 2,000 Silver (around $20) if you don’t already have it from the latest Destiny 2 expansion. This key also unlocks access to the Sundered Doctrine dungeon itself.
The Finality’s Auger, like other dungeon Exotics, drops randomly from the final boss of the dungeon. So, you’ll likely be running the Sundered Doctrine a few times before it drops.
There’s a guaranteed way to get it, though! If you can beat the Sundered Doctrine during Contest mode (the extra-hard mode available for the first 48 hours after the dungeon launches), the Finality’s Auger is yours. Contest mode is tough though, as it levels the playing field by capping everyone’s power level.
