Canker’s Camp Location in KCD2

Canker’s Camp operates as a well-known bandit hideout that rests close to the Nevakov’s mountain forest. Canker’s Camp remains an optimal place for ambushes because it has dense plant growth and steep mountain slopes. To find the camp, head north along the road. Be warned: you’ll likely encounter a bandit ambush along the way. One of the bandits will be disguised as a priest and will try to trick you by posing as a beggar. Once you’ve dealt with them, continue following the stream north. Canker’s Camp will eventually come into view. The camp is home to at least six bandits, so be ready for a challenging fight.

How To Beat Canker

Taking down Canker and his gang won’t be a walk in the park. They’re quick to surround you if you’re not careful. This quest actually involves two separate encounters. The first hits you right after you fast-travel to the quest location: a six-bandit ambush. They’ll likely try to swarm Henry.

When this happens, use Mutt to your advantage. Have him distract a couple of enemies so you can pick off the weaker, less armored ones. These lightly armored bandits should go down with just a hit or two.

Weapons to Beat Canker

Before the fight even starts, consider poisoning your weapon with Bane Poison (craft it with Wormwood, Belladonna, and Amanita Muscaria). This can give you a serious edge, letting you take out a couple of enemies before they even know what hit them. Poisoning some arrows and firing them at the ambushers waiting on the sides of the road can also weaken their attack significantly.

Be careful with ranged attacks. If the ambushers see you using a bow or crossbow, they’ll likely rush you, and switching weapons while surrounded can be deadly.

After you’ve handled the initial ambush, attacking the camp itself is a whole different ballgame. You’ll face two heavily armored bandits, three archers, and two lightly armored attackers. One of these light attackers, wielding a mace, is Canker himself.

There are a couple of ways to approach this. You could try a stealthy tactic: stalk the camp’s perimeter until after midnight, sneak in, eliminate the guards, and poison either the wine or the food. Then, just wait for it to take effect. Alternatively, for a more direct approach, you can use Mutt to draw enemies out and pick them off one by one.

When facing a large group of enemies, a polearm or a heavy weapon like a longsword can be your best friend. These weapons are great for crowd control, allowing you to keep enemies at bay while you circle around and use the environment to protect your back.

Rewards in Canker’s Camp

Once Canker and his gang are defeated, take your time to loot the camp. There’s some valuable stuff there that you can sell for extra cash (Groschen). Don’t forget to grab Canker’s Mace as proof of the kill.

Canker’s Mace might be hidden under the bodies of the fallen bandits, so be sure to move any that are in the way and carefully search the area around them until you find it.

Afterward, head back to Semine Keep and talk to Guiles to complete the quest. You’ll receive 175 Groschen and a significant boost to your reputation as a reward. You can try to convince Guiles to let you keep Canker’s Mace, but it’s just a regular heavy mace that you can easily buy from blacksmiths – nothing particularly special about it.
