The Prestige system for operators in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ is different from the regular Prestige system. In this system, apart from upgrading your level, you will have to meet certain criteria before your operator can be prestiged. Some of the criteria include obtaining rare equipment, having money in the bank, and gaining trait points through mission completion. It gets difficult when you lose your operator in the middle of your mission. Here’s how to prestige operators in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ and what you can do to make the process easier.
How To Prestige Operators In DMZ
You need to collect specific equipment, earn enough cash, and unlock all 18 trait points for your operator. Before you can prestige an operator, you need to send them for active deployment and also meet the following requirements:
- 18 Trait Points
- 2 Weapons with Attachment Slots
- 1 Plate Carrier
- 1 Backpack
- 4 Printer Ingredients
- Cash
For each prestige tier you wish to unlock, you need to find the related rarity tier of the above items. For example, Prestige 1 just requires rare quality weapons, plate carriers, backpacks, and printer ingredients. For higher Prestige levels, you need to get Epic and Legendary rarity items. Also, the weapon attachment slots will vary, starting with 3 attachment slots for Prestige 1, while Prestige 2 and 3 require 4 weapon attachment slots.
Prestige 1, 2, and 3 will also require varying cash in hand, starting at 200,000 and going up to 300,000 and 500,000, respectively. Most of these items are fairly easy to collect as you continue playing DMZ. You’ll naturally come across weapons, backpacks, plate carriers, printer ingredients, and cash while completing missions. However, getting all 18 trait points is where things become difficult.
How To Earn 18 Trait Points In DMZ

To prestige, you have to unlock all 18 trait points by unlocking Onyx III on your Dog Tag, and this will take quite some grind. With each mission you complete in DMZ, your operator gets experience points. This applies not only to the regular missions but also to the objectives discovered on the map as well as longer-term objectives. The more experience points your operator earns, the more trait points you unlock. This is then used to upgrade your operator along three separate lines of development, according to your gameplay style.
What Happens If Your Operator Goes MIA
The main problem in achieving Prestige is ensuring that the operator survives through the whole process. In case you are killed in action during a mission, your operator becomes MIA (Missing in Action). The choice you now have is either to pay cash for the recovery of your operator or dismiss the operator.
In the event that you choose to recover your operator using cash, you will lose the weapons and the equipment, but you will still retain all the accumulated traits. It is worth noting that this is especially necessary when you are approaching 18 trait points.
On the other hand, in case you dismiss your operator, you will lose all your trait progress, and you will have to start afresh with a new operator. For this reason, it’s important to keep enough cash saved up to recover your main operator whenever things go wrong.
Best Way To Prestige Operators In DMZ

One of the most efficient ways to achieve Prestige is to utilise two operators instead of using only one. Select one of your operators as your main operator and concentrate on earning experience and trait points with them. Let your second operator farm money by completing short field missions.
You will earn approximately $20,000 to $22,000 from such missions, and there will be no need for extraction to receive the money. Thus, it will allow you to have extra money in the bank while keeping your main operator safe.
Now that you’ve accumulated enough money, you will go back to playing with your primary operator and earn trait points from them. Even if they go MIA, now you have enough money to recover them without losing your progress. When you play, you will unlock new operator slots, and thus have up to three slots for operators in total. Players who have the Vault Edition get one extra operator slot.
As it takes a lot of time to accumulate 18 trait points, it is best to avoid risks when dealing with your primary operator. Concentrate on playing missions, have enough money for recovery, and collect resources using the rest of the operators. Once you have 18 trait points and all necessary rare equipment, printer recipes, and $200,000 cash, you will be able to prestige them.
Why Prestige Operators
Prestiging will offer permanent Trait unlocks that are chosen at random each time you attempt a Prestige. Luckily, if you don’t like the traits given to you, you can always Prestige again to unlock more random traits. You can only equip 3 traits at a time, so this can offer a wider selection if you choose to do Prestige again. If you are a casual player who doesn’t care too much about ranking your operators, then you don’t need to go through the hassle of this. But if you are playing competitively, then owning different Traits will definitely be beneficial to your operator build.
