Skins in AION 2 can be a useful means of expanding your Closet with additional skins and earning some stats too. You may obtain skins through extracting equipment, merging duplicate skins, Lucky Auras and shopping for cosmetics. Some methods are easier than others, so knowing how the system works will help you collect skins faster.
How To Get More Skins

The Closet system enables you to accumulate skins and get additional stats while completing your collection. The first thing you need to bear in mind about the system is that Premium Skins only have cosmetic effects and cannot provide you with any stat bonuses or be used in the Closet collection.
Skins can be obtained from your gear while extracting them. Common, Rare, and Epic gear can be used for Extraction of the Enhancement Stones with the probability of obtaining the item’s skin. It is also possible to extract Unique and Heroic gear, but it is preferable to keep most of them, as they may be used in rerolling Soulbinds to improve your equipment. The exception is the Unique or Heroic gear that you obtain for completing the main storyline. Once you complete it, you can extract this gear as it will surely give you its skin.
Items can be extracted manually using the flask icon in the bottom part of your Inventory. There is a fee for manual extraction. You can also activate the Auto Extraction function in case you don’t want to extract your items manually.
Skin Extraction Chances
The chance of getting a skin depends on the rarity of the item you extract:
- Common, Rare, and Epic: 25% chance
- Unique and Heroic: 10% chance
Following the extraction process, you have an opportunity to combine duplicate skins in order to receive a new skin. In addition, the new skin will be of the same rarity level or higher. Hence, duplications are important because it allows you to keep combining skins until you reach the desired one. Moreover, you may use Lucky Auras while combining skins. Such items raise your chances of receiving better results. Lucky Auras may be received from Hidden Boxes, achievements, and the Sub Shop.
Black Cloud Merchant
Cosmetics can be purchased directly from the merchant Black Cloud Merchant. Nevertheless, the products available to purchase are different each hour, which means that one cannot expect any particular skin from this shop.
