There are a total of 55 Power Stones that can be collected in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Some of these will be gained through exploration and from finding treasure chests, while other Power Stones will be granted through mission completion, Chance Encounters, Mysteries of Kyoto, and Oni Portals. Since Power Stones are required to upgrade your skills, it is necessary to collect all the Power Stones. In this guide, we’ll show you the location of every Power Stone and explain how to get each one.
Power Stones
A total of 55 Power Stones are scattered throughout Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Some are found in chests during exploration, whereas some are rewarded through mission completion, Chance Encounters, Mysteries of Kyoto, and Oni Portals.
Power Stones are used for upgrading your character’s skills; however, in order to do so, you will have to obtain all of them. Power Stones are upgrade materials that you’ll need to fully upgrade all your skills and unlock the Well-Rounded trophy/achievement.
Power Stone #1
This Power Stone can be found in a chest located at the Oni Refuge. Go to the marked spot on the map and locate the chest on the island. There will be a bridge that connects you to the island; however, the bridge will start off in its lowered position. Position yourself close to the bridge and use an arrow to activate the mechanism which raises it. Then cross to the island and open the chest.
Power Stone #2 + #3
Complete “The Silent Gauntlet” to receive both Power Stones as a reward.
Power Stone #4
Complete “Careful What You Wish For” to receive this Power Stone.
Power Stone #5 + #6
Complete “Windswept Kennin-ji” to receive both Power Stones.
Power Stone #7
This Power Stone can be found in a chest within a courtyard that is situated to the southeast of the Kamo River. You will need to reach the courtyard and find the chest containing the Power Stone.
Power Stone #8
The Power Stone can be found within a chest in the Underground Laboratory on the third underground level. You need to reach Underground Level 3 to find the chest.
Power Stone #9
The Power Stone is located inside a chest, which is guarded by a Malice Barrier at the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. It will be necessary to remove the barrier before accessing the chest containing the Power Stone.
Power Stone #10
Find a chest to the north of the Kiyomizu-zaka Slope Spirit Mirror. Proceed to the north of the Spirit Mirror, where you will find the chest holding the Power Stone.
Power Stone #11 + #12
Complete “Bloodbath on the Bridge” to receive both Power Stones as rewards.
Power Stone #13
You’ll find this Power Stone inside a chest on the western island of Kyoto. Travel to the island and look for the chest to collect it.
Power Stone #14
Complete the second Oni Portal to receive this Power Stone as a reward.
Power Stone #15
Complete “Shadows Fall” to receive this Power Stone.
Power Stone #16 + #17
Complete the “A Wife’s Prayer” Mystery of Kyoto to receive both Power Stones.
Power Stone #18
This Power Stone is inside a chest at Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Take the path behind the Oni Wall and follow it until you reach the chest. Open it to collect the Power Stone.
Power Stone #19 + #20
Complete the “Ace Archer: Nijo-jo Castle” Chance Encounter to receive both Power Stones.
Power Stone #21+22
Complete the “An Ugly Business” Chance Encounter to receive this Power Stone.
Power Stone #23
You’ll find this Power Stone inside a chest southwest of the Gojo Street – West Spirit Mirror. Head southwest from the Spirit Mirror and search the area for the chest.
Power Stone #24
Complete “A Tempest at the Temple” to receive this Power Stone.
Power Stone #25 + #26
Complete the “The Growling Ghost” Chance Encounter to receive both Power Stones.
Power Stone #27 + #28
Complete the “Ace Archer: Kyoto Imperial Palace” Chance Encounter to receive both Power Stones.
Power Stone #29 + #30
These two Power Stones are inside a chest in the area where you fought Sasaki Ganryu, next to the Yasaka Pagoda Spirit Mirror. Return to the area and look for the chest to collect both stones.
Power Stone #31 + #32
Complete “Okuni’s Kabuki Dance” to receive both Power Stones.
Power Stone #33
Complete “The Demon on the Mount” to receive this Power Stone.
Power Stone #34
Complete the third Oni Portal to receive this Power Stone.
Power Stone #35 + #36
Both Power Stones can be found inside the Hidden Oni Treasure #3 chest. Find the Hidden Oni Treasure #3 chest and open it to collect both stones.
Power Stone #37
You’ll find this Power Stone inside a chest in the Valley of Mount Oe. After moving across the platforms, return to the previous platform where you performed the wall run. Drop down from there and follow the path to find the chest.
Power Stone #38
This Power Stone is inside a chest in the same room as the Storehouse Spirit Mirror in Mount Oe. Look around the room for the chest and open it to collect the stone.
Power Stone #39 + #40
Complete “A Haunted Distraction” to receive both Power Stones.
Power Stone #41 + #42
Complete the “The Night Parade” Mystery of Kyoto to receive both Power Stones.
Power Stone #43 + #44
Both stones are found inside the Hidden Oni Treasure #4 chest. Locate the Hidden Oni Treasure #4 chest and open it to collect them.
Power Stone #45
This Power Stone is inside a chest north of the Higashioji Street Spirit Mirror. Head north from the Spirit Mirror and look for the chest.
Power Stone #46
You’ll find this Power Stone inside a chest just south of Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto. Head outside the shrine and search the southern area for the chest.
Power Stone #47
This Power Stone is inside a chest in the Bamboo Grove in Arashiyama. Explore the Bamboo Grove and look for the chest containing the stone.
Power Stone #48 + #49
Complete “Storm Chaser” to receive both Power Stones.
Power Stone #50
You’ll find this Power Stone inside a chest at the northern end of the swamp in Arashiyama. Head towards the northern part of the swamp and search for the chest.
Power Stone #51
This Power Stone can be found inside a chest in the Swamp of Arashiyama. Explore the swamp’s northwestern area and look for the chest to collect it.
Power Stone #52
This too can be found in the Swamp of Arashiyama. Go to the southeastern area of the map and you’ll find the chest in front of a house.
Power Stone #53
The Power Stone can be found in a chest located at the dead end of the village that lies west to the Hozu River Spirit Mirror in Arashiyama. Travel westward from the Spirit Mirror to the village, and keep going until you come to the dead end. The chest with the Power Stone is right there.
Power Stone #54 + #55
The final Power Stones are acquired as rewards for completing the main mission The Clash at Rendaino. You get this mission near the end of the game.
