Rain Shift is the latest addition to Animal Hospital’s events. This shift introduces rain, puddles, and fish-like anomalies in the hospital. During this shift, you will have to be very careful while examining your patients since there might be some who are not quite what they appear to be. However, this shift will also make it easy for you to restore Sanity by simply using rain. In this guide, we’ll show you how the Rain Shift works and what you need to do to get through it safely.
Rain Shift In Animal Hospital
The Rain Shift may take place anytime during shifts from Shift 3 to Shift 8, and you will know it has started when the message “It starts to rain outside” appears on your screen. You will surely encounter the Rain Shift at least one time during a game, and the longer you play, the higher the chances are that you will face the Rain Shift more than once.
The Rain Shift is one of the most unique features introduced in this update. As soon as the special shift begins, rain starts falling down all around the Animal Hospital, making the atmosphere totally different. In addition, the rain influences the building itself, as water starts leaking from its roof, thus forming puddles and leaks inside the hospital.
Although it is hardly the most convenient change when you have to work in the animal hospital, this feature really makes the shift stand out among other shifts.
How To Play In Rain Shift
The most interesting thing about the Rain Shift is the puddles. Every time you move through a puddle, you will gain 1 Sanity, which is shown on-screen with a “+1 Sanity (Rain)” message, with Psychologists gaining +2 Sanity instead.
It is also possible to walk into puddles near the hospital in order to restore sanity until the rain stops. Since your shift ends once you run out of sanity, it is important to use all available puddles in order to restore sanity while moving between the front desk and medical rooms.
Fish Anomalies and Fish Patients
The patients that appear during the Rain Shift will have fish-like appearances rather than regular animals. But like a normal shift, you still need to weed out the anomalies from the normal patients. Anomalies will also appear in fish form, so you need to work extra hard to spot them.
Before admitting any patients, make sure you compare their pictures with the ones provided and also use the security cameras to identify any abnormalities in the patients. Check whether there are any abnormal behaviours or features in the patient. In case a fish patient looking for a checkup is an anomaly, keep it out of the hospital.
The best part about the Rain Shift is that there are no bosses or special enemies during this time. But you will encounter the usual quest-related patients alongside the regular patients, so you need to take care of them to complete the Animal Hospital lore.
