Aegidron is one of the most exciting new Pals added in the Palworld 1.0 update. While it may not be able to fly despite its huge wings, it makes up for it with its powerful mining abilities and useful Partner Skill. If you’re looking to add this impressive Dragon/Ground-type Pal to your collection, you’ll first need to unlock the World Tree area and prepare for a challenging Alpha Boss fight. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find Aegidron, how to defeat and catch it, and how to craft its Pal Gear.
How To Get Aegidron
Aegidron is one of the new Pals featured in the Palworld 1.0 patch. Despite its huge wings, Aegidron cannot be used as a flying mount. You can only use it as a mount on the ground. The Indestructible Fortress Partner Skill makes it reduce the explosion damage taken by you and your group members by 60%, and it also grants immunity to stun effects.
Even though the skill has some value, it is not among the most effective Partner Skills of the game. What sets Aegidron apart from other Pals is that it is good at mining. It comes with a Level 8 Mining suitability, making it one of the best mining Pals you can have for your base.
How To Unlock The World Tree Area
In order for you to catch Aegidron, you first have to unlock the World Tree area. You do this by going to the NPC where you get the Echoing Flute Blueprint from. Talk to this NPC and four locations will appear on your map. They are whale bones; each of them contains an item you must obtain.
After collecting all four items, go to your base camp and make the Echoing Flute using the Primitive Workbench. Go to the same NPC again and talk near the shrine. This starts the boss fight against Panthalus. Defeat and capture Panthalus, then talk to the NPC once more. You now have access to the World Tree terminal, and the new area is unlocked permanently. The coordinates of Aegidron are (-1925, 1341)
Battle Preparation
The first thing to consider before getting into the battle with Aegidron is to put on the Merciful Ring. The reason for this is that putting on this ring will help to avoid accidental knockout when the health of Aegidron gets low.
Being a Dragon/Ground-type Pal, it would be easier to defeat Aegidron with certain types of Pals. Pals of the ice type have extra damage to its dragon side, while Pals of the leaf type have extra damage to its ground side. Therefore, the best Pal to take along with is either Bastigor or Frostallion.
How To Catch Aegidron
In the fight, make sure that you reduce the health of Aegidron before using your Sphere on it, and try to use the best Sphere that you have, whether a Sol Sphere or any other better Sphere, to increase your chances of capturing the creature. It is also advisable to have lots of healing items and wear good armour in order for you to be able to survive the fight.
If you find the battle too difficult, don’t worry; you can always come back later with better gear and stronger Pals because Aegidron always spawns in the same location. Reduce its HP until it’s almost defeated, then throw your best Sphere to capture it. Since it’s an Alpha Boss, using high-tier Spheres will give you the best chance of success.
How To Craft Aegidron Pal Gear
To ride Aegidron, you’ll first need to unlock and craft its Aegidron Saddle, which becomes available at Level 79. The materials required for crafting the saddle are:
- 30 pieces of Leather
- 10 pieces of Flame Organ
- 46 pieces of Paldium Fragments
- 24 pieces of High Quality Cloth
- 18 pieces of Paloxite Ingots.
How To Breed Aegidron
But if you don’t want to wait and unlock the World Tree territory, there is still another method for you to get Aegidron by using the breeding technique. To begin with, you will first have to build a Breeding Farm, which will become available for you to unlock starting from Level 19. Then, after unlocking the recipe for Extravagant Vegetable Cake at Level 60, prepare it and put it into your Breeding Box. Once you get your mutated egg, put it inside the Large Egg Incubator and wait until it hatches.
