Best Weapons Tier List – Dynasty Warriors Origins

In Dynasty Warriors Origins, your choice of weapon drastically affects your playstyle and general effectiveness. Starting from the Sword of the beginning and moving to the endgame power weapon, Halberd, each weapon possesses its own set of strengths and weaknesses. The tier list of all weapons in Dynasty Warriors Origins ranks them from best to worst in terms of damage output, ease of use, combo potential, and general effectiveness in one-on-one or crowd control. Whether it’s aggressive combos, strategy-based counterattacks, or ranged combat, you will be helped through the perfect weapon in dominating the battlefield with this guide.

Best Weapons Tier List

In Dynasty Warriors Origins, your weapon is basically your character class. You begin the game with a sword, but as you progress through the story, you’ll unlock new weapons at different points. After you finish the main story, you unlock one final, powerful weapon. The game doesn’t end there! There’s a ton of extra content to play after you beat the story. You can play on a harder difficulty, face new challenges, find new items and horses, and much more.

Spear

The Spear is a great weapon to start with in Dynasty Warriors Origins. It lets you attack from far away and is good at defending yourself. A simple two-button combo easily launches enemies into the air, which is very useful when fighting other important characters. Its long reach also helps you keep enemies at bay.

However, the Spear’s main weakness is that you can only attack in front of you, not all around you. This means it’s not as good as other weapons at hitting multiple enemies at once. Also, its attack combos aren’t very exciting or powerful later in the game.

Basically, the Spear doesn’t offer much that the Sword doesn’t, except for its longer reach. But if you use the combo that launches enemies into the air, it can be helpful in one-on-one fights. Because of these limitations, we rank the Spear as an average weapon overall.

Gauntlets

Dynasty Warriors Origins players often consider Gauntlets to be the least effective weapon. This is because they’re tricky to use. Unlike other weapons, which only have simple combos for attacking, Gauntlets require switching between different fighting styles, much like a real monk. But switching between them is awkward and time-consuming, involving several button presses and pauses. This makes it hard to attack smoothly and efficiently, especially when compared to other weapons that can easily unleash powerful attacks or special moves.

Staff

The Staff is a really good weapon in Dynasty Warriors Origins if you like to quickly stun and control groups of enemies. It’s great at launching enemies into the air, leaving them helpless while you attack. This makes it perfect for fighting other important characters one-on-one. It’s also much faster and better at launching enemies into the air than the Spear.

However, the Staff doesn’t have the same powerful special attacks as other weapons. You also rely a lot on launching enemies into the air, which can be difficult against strong enemies that are hard to stun. Other weapons can launch enemies into the air more easily.

Sword

The Sword is the first weapon you get in Dynasty Warriors Origins, but don’t underestimate it! It’s one of the best weapons in the game. You can perform long combos with it, which means you can attack many times in a row, then launch enemies into the air. This lets you deal a lot of damage, stay safe, and control groups of enemies without needing to use special moves. Later in the game, you unlock a powerful special move called Divine Eagle Dance that can hit enemies all around you. This makes the Sword as strong as other top-tier weapons.

However, the Sword has some drawbacks. Its normal attacks aren’t very strong, and its combos take a while to perform. This can be a problem when you’re fighting multiple enemies at once because your combos can be interrupted.

Podao

The Podao is a heavy hitter that uses powerful, charged attacks to deliver crushing damage. The game is about timing those charged attacks just as enemies close in. The Podao also comes with a number of special moves: quick movements around the screen, hit-and-run on multiple enemies at once, and delayed, heavy-hitting attacks.

This is the best weapon for those players who play slowly and carefully, waiting for the right moment to unleash powerful attacks. It’s a great choice if you want to deal huge damage and have a lot of options for how to fight. However, the Podao relies heavily on these strong, charged attacks, which take a while to perform. If you don’t time these attacks correctly or prefer to use special moves instead, you won’t be as effective.

Crescent Blade

The Crescent Blade is the final weapon you unlock in the main story of Dynasty Warriors Origins. It’s famous for its wide attacks that can easily hit many enemies at once. You can attack all around you with this weapon, making it great for fighting large groups. Its special moves are very powerful from the beginning, making it easier to defeat other important characters and bosses. This weapon is easy to use and very strong, which makes it good for beginners.

However, the Crescent Blade has some downsides. Its attacks are slow, which can leave you open to attack. It also has a charged attack that requires you to hold down a button for two seconds, which can be risky in the middle of a fight. Other weapons can attack faster, from further away, or have more powerful attacks. Despite these limitations, the Crescent Blade is still a very powerful weapon.

Wheels

The Wheels are a really cool weapon in Dynasty Warriors Origins! You throw them at enemies like frisbees, and they come back to you. They deal good damage from a distance, but you’re vulnerable while they’re flying through the air.

The special attack for the Wheels is unique and tricky to master. You have to press the attack button again just as the Wheels come back to you. If you time it right, they’ll shoot out again with extra power! This makes the Wheels one of the best weapons in the game because they can deal a lot of damage.

However, you feel a bit more vulnerable when using the Wheels because you don’t have your weapon for a short time. Also, it takes some time to get used to using them effectively. The Wheels are perfect for players who like to fight from a distance and deal big bursts of damage. They require skill and practice, but once you get good at using them, they become incredibly powerful.

Lance

The Lance is a well-rounded weapon in Dynasty Warriors Origins. It’s good for both attacking and defending. A special feature lets you block enemy attacks while you’re charging a strong attack, and then you can counterattack with a powerful swing. This makes it very useful in many different situations. The Lance also has good special moves that are easy to use and don’t require a lot of energy to perform. It’s a balanced weapon that’s easy to use and has effective combos and special moves.

However, the Lance has some drawbacks. Its attacks are a bit slow, and it’s not as fast as some other melee weapons. It also doesn’t reach as far as the Wheels. To use the special block and counterattack, you need to hold down the strong attack button for a few seconds. This can sometimes expose you to incoming attacks while you charge. All in all, the Lance is a strong weapon that has good defense and offense balance.

Twin Pikes

The Twin Pikes are all about powerful combos and taking down enemies one-on-one. They’re designed to launch enemies into the air and keep them there while you unleash a barrage of attacks. You don’t need to rely heavily on special moves with these, as the real power comes from stringing together strong attacks. A special skill called “Battle Roar” boosts your damage, making even the toughest enemies crumble.

In particular, the Twin Pikes represent some of the strongest equipment in the game for challenging difficulties. The combos and very precise attack timing are suitable for those who do not prefer spamming a special move all the time.

However, the Twin Pikes have some disadvantages. They rely too much on launching enemies into the air, which leaves you vulnerable while you’re setting up the attack. Also, some of their attack animations are slow and make you feel a bit clunky.

Halberd

The Halberd is the strongest weapon in Dynasty Warriors Origins. It’s incredibly powerful, can easily take down groups of enemies, and is really fun to use. However, you can only get it after you finish the main story of the game. If you want to complete everything in the game or play on the hardest difficulty, the Halberd is the perfect choice.

It has amazing special moves, like Defiant Shockstorm, which pulls enemies towards you, launches them into the air, and hits them all at once. Another great move, Hellraiser, creates a shockwave around you that damages enemies, though it leaves you open to attack for a short time.
