The Blubberbearer is an underwater boss in Genshin Impact that you will face during the Battle Line, Bubbled objective in Operation Deep Dive. It is not a very difficult fight, but the boss can turn invisible and hide, making it a little confusing. Since it is a limited-time event, you need to defeat the Blubberbearer Recruit Boss and claim its rewards before the event ends. In this guide, we will show you how to defeat the Blubberbearer Recruit Boss in Genshin Impact.
The Blubberbearer Recruit Boss

The Blubberbearer Recruit Boss in Genshin Impact is one of the Fontemer Aberrants. Fontemer Aberrants are a group of enemies commonly found in Fontaine on the Wriothesley ship. The Blubberbearer Recruit Boss is part of the Battle Line, Bubbled objective, in Operation Deep Dive. This is part of the Sunny Summer Fontinalia event, which is available from July 1st 2026 to August 11th 2026.
Blubberbearer Recruit Boss Attack Patterns

The Blubberbearer can turn invisible and swim around the area while firing slow-moving Hydro projectiles at you. Each projectile deals damage equal to 100% of its attack if it hits you. To stop this attack, use the Xenochromatic Blubberbeast’s ability on it. This will force the enemy out of invisibility, removing 15% of its maximum HP. This also stuns it for a few seconds, giving you a chance to attack.
The Blubberbearer will also slap its belly and launch between 1-3 slow-moving Hydro projectiles. Each projectile deals Hydro damage equal to 100% of its attack, so keep moving to avoid getting hit.
How to Defeat the Blubberbearer Recruit Boss

Start by absorbing the Xenochromatic Blubberbeast’s Sonar Wave ability and use it in place of your normal elemental skill. You will have only two charges available, so make sure to use them carefully. To find the hidden Blubberbearer, watch the direction from which the sonar waves are coming. Follow these waves and use the absorb ability to find its hiding spot. You need to get very close for the detection to work properly.
Avoid attacking it while it is invisible because it cannot be damaged in that state. As soon as it becomes visible, quickly attack it when it is stunned or standing still before it disappears again. Completing this objective will reward you with 18,000 Genshin Funds and 200 Special Baits. After defeating the Blubberbearer, you can capture it in your inventory. You will also find the Piano Lid nearby, so pick that up too.
