Boosting base power in Subnautica 2 turns a fragile base into a reliable underwater headquarters. There are multiple ways to power your base – solar panels, hydroelectric turbines, thermal plants and bioreactors. We know that solar panels only work during daylight and cause blackouts during nights but it’s an easy build while starting out in the beginning. This guide will be centered on Hydroelectric Turbines – where to find fragments, how to set up the turbines and how to transmit power to the base.
Obtaining Hydroelectric Turbine Blueprint

To obtain the blueprint of Hydroelectric Turbine, you need to scan 2 turbine fragments which can be found at multiple locations like crash sites and abandoned bases. But the best place to find 2 fragments is to head northeast from the lifepod onto the Plateaus (where big mushrooms are located), there you can find 2 turbine fragments along a strong water current.
Building Hydroelectric Turbine

After you’ve unlocked the blueprint for the turbines, you can start building turbines using the habitat builder. And along with the turbines, you’re also going to unlock power transmitters – these transmit power through them (basically act like nodes) and you can use them to transmit power from turbines to the base so the distance between the turbine and the base won’t matter, you can build as many transmitters as needed and form a chain of transmitters to supply power to the base.

Just make sure to place the turbines inside strong water currents as shown in the above image, and don’t worry about the placement because the turbine will automatically adjust its direction.

Then build the Power Transmitters along your way to the base so that the power transmits along the chain of transmitters and make sure to place a transmitter on the base as shown in the above second image to start powering your base. You can build multiple turbines and have multiple sources of power.
