Gold is an important resource in Subnautica 2 that is needed for crafting many advanced items and upgrades. Unlike common materials found near your starting area, gold is located deep inside the dangerous lava region. Reaching this area requires the right equipment, including the Heat Tolerance Adaptation and the Sonic Resonator. In this guide, we will show you where to find gold, how to collect it safely, and what useful items you can craft with it.
How To Get Gold

Gold can be extracted from extremely hot underground regions. A clear indication that you have arrived at the correct destination is if the temperature of the surrounding environment increases to 85°C. Such regions tend to be full of drifting Comb Jellies and geothermal vents. As you travel through the caves, watch out for mineral deposits that are near the walls and the cave floor. Gold deposits appear to have a circular shape like that of a honeycomb.
How To Collect Gold

The majority of gold deposits will appear near the big thermal vents. However, getting too close to one of them may result in an alert about the high temperature. In order to destroy these deposits, it will be necessary to use the Sonic Resonator. After charging it, shoot it into the deposit, break it, and gather gold from it.
In Subnautica 2, gold can only be found in the lava region. Due to its high heat level, it is impossible to visit this place without the Heat Tolerance Adaptation. Without this upgrade, the intense temperatures will quickly put you in danger, so make sure to unlock it before heading out to search for gold.
How To Use Gold
Once you have collected some gold, use it for creating useful equipment like Thermal Plants and Advanced Wiring Kits. If you want to make Gold Ingots from gold, just insert three gold pieces into the Processor. Three gold pieces will give one Gold Ingot, which is needed for other recipes later on in the game.
