The Queen Stoneback Crab is a unique boss in Crimson Desert, as, instead of simply fighting until its health is zero, you have to know its unique weakness system and use the correct abilities at the right time to defeat it. This guide will tell you where to unlock the fight, how to start it, and the easiest way to defeat the boss.
Stoneback Crab Boss
You cannot start a fight against the Queen Stoneback Crab right away. You have to wait until you have completed a number of Deleysia Faction quests before the Queen Stoneback Crab is unlocked. Once you have progressed far enough in the game, you will find the Queen Stoneback Crab boss while doing The Wolf’s Ballad quest under the Redfox Merchants category. This is where the Queen Stoneback Crab fight is located.
You will be able to start the Queen Stoneback Crab fight while exploring the far eastern side of the map. While exploring the road in this area, you will come across a strange man named Dedric. After talking to Dedric, he will ask you to follow him to a nearby lake. Once you reach the lake, you will find a group of rare minerals in the centre of the lake. When you reach the location of these minerals, the Queen Stoneback Crab will appear, and the fight will start.
How to Defeat the Queen Stoneback Crab
This boss can’t be defeated using normal attacks. First off, you’ll need to turn on your sword’s Blinding Flash. This will show the weak points on the back of the crab. These weak points are shown by three spinning squares.
To reach these weak points, you will need to jump towards the crab. Once you’re in the air, you will need to use your Force Bomb three times to climb up even further. Once you’re high enough, you will need to jump again to glide onto the back of the crab. Once you’ve landed, you will need to push the left stick to climb up the back of the crab. Move towards the deposits and attack them with either normal attacks or Force Bomb until they break.
Breaking the deposits will show the green wound beneath. Instead of continuing to attack it, you will need to stand on the wound and press the RT button to pierce the wound. This will cause the wound to explode, removing the boss’s health. You will need to do this three times, finding all three weak spots on the back of the crab.
Once the third weak point has been hit, the battle will move to its second stage. During this stage, you need to target the pottery-like item on top of the crab’s head. It should be hit several times until its health drops to zero.
