In Crimson Desert, Red River is one of those places where there are a lot of secrets like hidden caves behind the waterfalls, secret chambers in the ruins or even puzzles like this that are in plain sight and require you to solve the puzzle in order to obtain the reward. This particular puzzle however, has an Abyss Artifact hidden behind a huge statue. In this guide, I’ll show you exactly how to solve the Red River puzzle.

Head to the above location near Red River, Demeniss and you’ll be seeing a question mark area in the map indicating that there might be a secret yet to be discovered.
How to Solve Red River Ancient Ruins Puzzle
Solving this puzzle is rather simple but the process of solving it is kind of annoying because the artifact is hidden behind the large statue. This statue can be moved by solving the mechanism and this mechanism requires you to arrange three pillars which have different carvings on each side of the pillar.
As you can see in the above image, these pillars are blocked by walls which can be moved by turning the wheel that is on the opposite side of the puzzle. What makes this annoying is that these walls don’t have any kind of lock mechanism that will lock the walls once to turn the wheel, meaning we have to turn the wheel continuously to be able to turn the pillars into desired positions.
You’d have to arrange the pillars the way it’s shown in the above image. You can turn the wheel which pulls down the walls blocking the pillars and then use arrows to turn the pillars by hitting them on the side of the direction you want to turn them before the walls close up.
Hint : When the pillar is in the desired position, the eyes of the statue on the pillars glow, which is a clear indication that this particular pillar is in the correct position.
And once you’ve arranged them in the correct order, the mechanism unlocks and the main statue is moved downwards revealing an Abyss Artifact that can be collected and can be used to upgrade the character’s skills.
Note : You might want to carry a lot of arrows, I had to go back to a shop to buy them because apparently I’ve used up arrows trying to solve this and let me tell you something, I don’t use a bow at all.
