How to Find the Seat of Eternity Puzzle

Once you break free from the Nazi stronghold, a man will approach you with a warning. He’ll tell you that a spy working for Nawal is on your trail, hiding somewhere in the northern part of Gizeh Village. To find this spy, follow the main road north until you spot a bright yellow building. Turn right onto the path that runs alongside it. You will find the spy leaning against a building on your left. He is easy to spot by his blue robes. The spy will guide you to an abandoned campsite that can be found west of the village, near the ancient ruins. This will be the point where you enter the mystical Seat of Eternity.

The Seat of Eternity Puzzle is located northwest of the Great Sphinx in Gizeh. This is an optional mystery puzzle, but you will need to solve it to complete the Riddles of the Ancients discovery and obtain an Ancient Relic. You’ll find two ways to enter the ancient ruins. The first is a hidden passage covered by three wooden planks.  Stand on the planks upright, then jump through the gap. Do note that this leap can damage Indy, so do not take the jump if he’s weak.

The second entrance opens toward the deserted camp. Be cautious, though, because the area is patrolled by wild dogs. If they see you, they’ll attack, so fight them off with your whip or run to the ruins quickly. While exploring Gizeh, you’ll come across a small tomb with a sarcophagus containing the Ancient Relic.

How to Solve the Seat of Eternity Puzzle

To open it, you’ll need to activate four pressure plates. First, Collect all four Canopic Jars and place them in the correct order in the Sarcophagus Room.

  • The Falcon Canopic Jar is located right next to the sarcophagus on the floor.
  • At the end of the entrance corridor, you’ll find a large gate blocking your path. To open it, use your whip on the metal ring and pull it hard. Once the gate rises, you’ll see a Jackal Canopic Jar on the floor. To put the jar near the sarcophagus, you’ll need to throw this jar across a deep pit.
  • To retrieve the Human Canopic Jar, you’ll need to swing across the pit and drop down into it. Once you’re inside, grab the jar and throw it out towards the sarcophagus. Then, use your whip to climb back out of the pit. Finally, pick up the jar and carry it to its designated pedestal.
  • While you’re grabbing the Human Jar, you’ll spot a metal rod in the pit. Retrieve it and throw it out of the pit. Once you’re back out, use the rod to smash the destructible wall at the end of the main corridor. Behind the wall, you’ll find a dark passageway. Follow it to the end, where you’ll discover the Baboon Canopic Jar.

Now, take all three jars to the Sarcophagus Room, where the Falcon Canopic Jar will already be inside. Arrange the jars in the correct order: Human – Falcon – Jackal – Baboon, starting from the left side of the room. Once you put each jar on its corresponding pedestal, the sarcophagus will open, revealing a precious Ancient Relic. You’ll receive 80 Adventure Points and complete the Seat of Eternity Mystery for an additional 225 Adventure Points. This will get you points toward unlocking new books and continuing your adventure.
