Resting at hot springs has become standard in games like this one. Nioh 3 follows suit without surprise. Though minor on the surface, each visit matters more than it first seems. Missing even one block results in both the Spa Healer and Spa Lover rewards. Completion means stepping into each hot spring, no exceptions.
Each Hot Spring:
- Health returns completely, while Ki fills up again at the same time
- Grants 2 Yokai Tears the first time you rest in it
Chasing every Hot Spring pays off – these spots give Yokai Tears, which buy Skill Texts or Smithing Texts at Sudama stores. Listed below are all the Hot Spring sites in Nioh 3, sorted by time periods.

All Hot Spring Locations in 1572 CE (Warring States Era)
During the Warring States period, eight hot springs wait to be discovered.
Tokaido

Deep inside the Tokaido hides a single hot spring, luckily not hard to reach. From the start, make your way to Cape Cavern Shrine. Slip into the cave there, winding southward across rocky tunnels. The path leads straight to an enemy outpost at the edge of the land.
Maisaka

Close to the Maisaka Post Shrine sits one of them. Step past the shrine toward an enemy camp tucked nearby. Fight every foe that shows itself inside. A gate waits there – unlock it to reach steaming waters beyond.
Maisaka

Away from the main trail lies the second Maisaka Hot Spring, tucked deep within the Haunting Caves. Begin at the Rimstone Pool Shrine, then walk ahead until the usual fork appears. Take the left path rather than veering right, then descend carefully.
Mikatagahara

Once you’re inside the Crucible zone, trigger the Hoda Slope Shrine to move forward. The spring stays locked unless you’re playing A Fiery Invasion, available again via Battle Scrolls. After activating the shrine, go up the slope, then veer right along the trail. That path opens into a tight space swarming with foes – defeat them all.
Lake Hamana

From the Main Keep Shrine, move toward the homes nearby. A sealed doorway blocks access – first defeat foes close by, then cleanse a Lesser Crucible. With that complete, the way opens.
Futamata Road

Just past the Juji Fortress (East) Shrine along Futamata Road sits the Hot Spring. After reaching the shrine, go up the first flight of steps. A closed door appears on the left side halfway through. Past that point, take another staircase upward. To the left once more, there’s an opening in the stone barrier.
Futamata

Glance right from the Defensive Gate Shrine – you’ll see steam through a gap in the stone, down below. Return along the steps, then stick close to the wall on your left. A hidden trail appears there, guiding you without risk straight to the water’s edge.
Iinoya

Inside Ryotan Temple sits Iinoya’s sole hot spring. Begin at the Living Quarters Shrine, then move toward the outer garden. A Nurikabe stands in your path there. Perform an emote, and it vanishes – uncovering the spring just behind.

A few of the seven hot springs from the Heian era slip past notice.
Funaokayama

One hot spring hides close to an enemy camp inside Funaokayama. Advance along the edge, staying tight against the terrain’s outer rim. Walk past trees and climb uphill till a temple comes into view – this is where foes gather. To its right, find a little shelter opening onto a trail draped in bamboo stalks. Slice away the thick reeds blocking passage and step beyond them toward steamy waters.
Sagano

Away from the main trail at Sagano, one hot spring hides within Matsuo-taisha Shrine. Leftward leads the way when the story pulls you into that area. Step into the Ascetic Cave after turning off course. Above, a spellcaster waits, hurling magic down. Behind that spot, the steaming pool appears along the narrow route.
Sagano

Backtrack from the shrine to find Horiike of Arashiyama. Facing away now, walk straight until nearing the map’s rim. A Spirit Vein appears, pointing off toward a Lesser Crucible ahead. Skip that path entirely, stay on course to the right instead. The Sagano Hot Spring waits just beyond without needing detours.
Hachijo

A small path leads to the second Hachijo Hot Spring, tucked inside Rajomon. Begin at Mibu Avenue Shrine, stepping past its gates. Moving forward, follow the upper route above the grounds. Along the rooftops, keep an eye out for an opening overhead. That gap drops straight into steaming waters ahead.
Rokuhara

Finding Rokuhara’s Hot Spring starts at Yasaka Shrine’s Nishiro Gate Shrine. Moving past where most would turn for the boss fight, keep straight ahead. Past that point, a barrier of ice blocks the way. Smashing through it opens up the space behind.
Palace Grounds

A hidden Hot Spring links to the Crucible – easy to skip early on. Should you need another try, go back through the Frozen City Blazing Tree battle scroll. Arriving at the Crimson Lotus Inner Garden Shrine, smash the crystal close by before moving left. Blocking the way stands a Nurikabe; trigger an emote to make it vanish and step toward the water.

Shimabara

Inside the old pleasure district’s main hall sits Shimabara’s Hot Spring. Walking every corner of the place, then spotting it becomes inevitable.
Kiyomizu

A pair of hot springs hides within Kiyomizu. One sits near the west side, just by the Dilapidated Temple Shrine.
Kiyomizu

Beyond the inner part of Kiyomizu Temple, toward the east, another spring sits quietly. Getting to it means stepping carefully across uneven ground.
Shirakawa

A short walk beyond the Yoshidayama Approach Shrine leads to Shirakawa Hot Spring. Following trails through the area makes getting there simple enough.
Nijo Castle

Hidden just beyond the Mibu Temple’s main gate, the hot spring sits close to the Abandoned Temple Outskirts Shrine. Following those winding footpaths carefully brings you right up to the hot spring’s edge.
Kyoto Imperial Palace

A hidden Hot Spring sits within the Kyoto Imperial Palace Crucible in Nioh 3. Miss it, then jump back using the Scion of the Gods Battle Scroll instead. Completion stays reachable, no dead ends stuck forever.
