Woven with Malice is a quest in Where Winds Meet that uncovers hidden truths. The mission will lead you through the areas of Buddha Fort and the Qinghe region. You need to find Monk Tranquillus and follow the mysterious woman. This guide will tell you every step, so you know exactly where to go and how to complete the quest.
How to Start the Woven with Malice Quest
In order to start Woven with Malice, you will have to find a scholar who is hiding in the woods not far from Buddha Fort. Go to the Qinghe area and make your way to the forest that is directly north of the fort. In the forest, you will see a big bell, and next to it, the scholar will be waiting for you. The Worldly Affairs mission will start as soon as you approach him and talk with him.
Woven with Malice Quest
After you start the quest, wait for one full in-game day and then go back to talk to the Scholar. Once you’ve done that, wait another day. When you return this time, you will find that the Scholar is somehow trapped inside the bell. Speak to him there, and he will ask you to head to a nearby village.
Follow the quest marker to the village and talk to Little Needle. She will need a few materials from you: blue dye, red dye, and charcoal ash. Collect these items and hand them over to her. After that, wait one more in-game day for her to finish her work.
Find Monk Tranquillus
Once the garment is ready, take it back to the Scholar. You will overhear him talking, so listen in first, then walk up to the bell to check on him. Pick up the handkerchief, watch the short cutscene that plays, and when it’s over, head south to find Monk Tranquillus to continue the quest.
Monk Tranquillus can be found a little further south of Buddha Fort. When you arrive, you will see that Little Needle is already there, talking to him. Go ahead and speak with Monk Tranquillus and agree to spar with him. After you defeat him for the second time, he will finally open up and share more important information.
Next, head to the cave nearby and burn the vines blocking the entrance. This allows Monk Tranquillus to set a trap inside. From here, you will obtain a letter that points you toward the North Bamboo Grove.
Follow the mysterious woman
Travel there and talk to the stranger you find. Use Celestial Seize to pull a letter from his wagon, which sends you onward to some nearby ruins. Once there, use Mighty Drop on the stones in the middle to fall underground. After dropping down, climb back up and examine the wall.
As you continue, you will uncover an ambush. Use Wind Sense again to eavesdrop on people passing by. When you return to the stranger, a final cutscene will play. Once it ends, talk to the people who rescued you to learn who they really are. To wrap everything up, speak to Little Needle one last time, and you will officially complete “Woven with Malice” in Where Winds Meet.
Once you finish the Woven with Malice quest, you will be rewarded with a nice bundle of goodies. You will earn the Metamorphosis Hero Title, along with 80 Echo Jade and 1 Lingering Melody. On top of that, you will receive 30,000 Coins, 30,000 Character EXP, 80 Qinghe Exploration points, and 100 Enlightenment Points as a bonus for completing the quest.
