In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Emissions are one of the most dangerous events you’ll face in the Zone. When they happen, you have very little time to react, and making the wrong move can cost you your life. This guide will help you understand the Take Shelter from the Emission quest, explain what an Emission is, and show you exactly what to do when the warning appears so you can survive and continue your journey safely.
Take Shelter from the Emission Quest Guide

Just before an Emission starts in Stalker 2, a new main goal will appear, notifying you with “Take shelter from the Emission.” Along with this, an NPC will broadcast a warning through the radio regarding its approach. It is an indication that you have to abandon your current task and move to a secure location as fast as possible.
Take Shelter from the Emission is a general quest in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. When this quest starts, your only task is to get to a safe shelter in the least time possible and remain there. Once you enter, all that is left for you is to wait until the Emission is over. After the Emission is finished, the quest will be considered completed automatically.
Emission in Stalker 2
An Emission is a mysterious event, a powerful wave of energy that suddenly comes to the Zone, and no one really understands the reason behind it. When it strikes, nothing living can survive out in the open, apart from a few special mutants.
In the rare event of an Emission, your survival will depend on how fast you can find a place to save yourself. You should immediately look for a place that is extremely sealed off like a closed room, a basement, a cave, or any other comparable safe spot and remain there until the Emission completely passes.
Some inhabitants of the Zone will keep an eye out for the Emissions, and they would be the ones to notify the others. So, when the alert is given, your PDA will also indicate the nearest place of shelter on the map, enabling you to reach safety before it is too late.
