If you want to unlock the Free Morph Mystic Skill in Where Winds Meet, you need to complete a quest, solve a set of puzzles, and engage in a tough hidden boss fight. This guide walks you through the entire process step by step, where to go, what to do, and how to trigger the extra condition needed to unlock Free Morph.
How to Get the Free Morph
Start the Campaign Mission in the Bodhi Sea area. Here, you will need to activate three hidden drums by listening for their sound clues. After that, defeat Ye Wanshan to get the first half of the Buddhist Light Jade. Then head to the Palace of Annals and finish the next campaign mission. Follow the steps, defeat the final boss, and you will receive the second half of the Buddhist Light Jade.
This mission takes you to a tall tower at Halo Peak. Climb to the top and wait for the Wu Hour (12:00). Only at this time can you place both jade halves on the altar. Doing so opens the door at the base of the tower. Go inside, check the investigation point on the right to open the floor, and drop down into the underground area.
Puzzle Room 1
Use Meridian Touch to rotate the statue until its light beam lines up with the hole in the wall. This unlocks the path forward.

In the next room, use Meridian Touch again to rotate the statues and match the required pattern. Guide the light to the correct point to open the way. After crawling under the debris, the floor will collapse and drop you into a lower room. Inspecting a corpse here triggers an ambush from three enemies; defeat them. Continue until the path splits and take the left route. You will face another group of enemies in the following chamber.
In the next large room, activate the Hero’s Tomb on the left to set a respawn point. Then begin descending the huge hollow tower. You will cross thin beams and ropes. Near the bottom, a platform will collapse, and you will need to move quickly to avoid falling rocks and blocked paths.
At the bottom, activate the fast travel point, then rotate the final statue using Meridian Touch to aim the light at the exit door. Past this door is a secret boss, one of the hardest fights in the early game. But defeating this boss only unlocks Yaksha Rush, not Free Morph.
To get Free Morph, return to the red umbrella and fight the boss again. Finish Stage 1 as usual. In Stage 2, you will see a new Eye Icon next to the boss’s HP bar. Fill this Eye Meter before ending the fight. Once it’s full, defeat the boss. This time, you will finally unlock the Free Morph Mystic Skill.
