Where to Find Sentinel Firing Core & Rusted Gear in ARC Raiders

If you’re trying to level up your crafting and upgrades in ARC Raiders, two items you’ll need are Rusted Gears and Sentinel Firing Cores. Both are rare, useful, and can be hard to track down if you don’t know where to look. So here’s a simple guide on where you can farm them, and how to deal with the Sentinels.

Where to Find  Rusted Gears in ARC Raiders

Rusted Gears are mainly used to upgrade the Gunsmith, but you can also recycle them to receive four Metal Parts and two Mechanical Components. This rare item can be found while raiding, with the best chances of locating it in maps that contain multiple Industrial areas. The two most reliable maps for scavenging Rusted Gears in ARC Raiders are Dam Battlegrounds and Spaceport, as both offer several Industrial zones where these items often appear.

The Sentinel Firing Core is a rare drop you can obtain by taking down Sentinel units, and it can be recycled into useful crafting materials such as Arc Alloys and Mechanical Components. Although the drop is not guaranteed, one of the most reliable places to farm Sentinels for this item is the Dam Battlegrounds map, where they appear more frequently than in other locations.

How to Defeat the Sentinel Units

The Sentinel locks onto a Raider with a thick orange laser and follows their movement. After a moment, several lasers will sweep in and meet on the target; that’s the warning it’s about to shoot. A short time later, it fires a Heavy Ammo round that does a lot of damage; if you duck out of sight before it fires, it will still shoot where it last saw you.

When you fight a Sentinel, hug solid cover. It shoots slowly and has a sluggish reaction, so you can often pop a few shots in before it responds. Also, try to hit the yellow canister on its swivel arm: shots there do extra damage.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets. Hodophile by nature and aspiring to get lost in Hang Sơn Đoòng cave in Vietnam someday!
