Diabolical Drones OF Doom Quest Guide – Outer Worlds 2

If you’re exploring Paradise Island and notice Fairfield caught in the middle of a firefight, you will have the Diabolical Drones of Doom quest in The Outer Worlds 2. This quest sends you out to deal with a swarm of Protectorate hover drones that are causing trouble just west of town. This guide will tell you where to find the drones, how to destroy them, and how to get your rewards.

Diabolical Drones OF Doom Quest

Diabolical Drones of Doom is a task you can pick up in The Outer Worlds 2 by talking to Corporate Trooper Coetze near the entrance to Fairfield from the Landing Pad. The area is in chaos as the fight between the Protectorates and Auntie’s Choice heats up on Paradise Island, with Fairfield stuck right in the middle. Your job is to head to the hills west of Fairfield, near the Ministry of Accuracy, and destroy all the Protectorate hover drones causing trouble.

Once the drones are either destroyed or powered down, fast travel back to Fairfield and head to the Bounty Terminal. Claim the bounty for taking care of the drones, and the task, Diabolical Drones of Doom, will be complete. For completing the quest, you will get 1000 XP, an Advanced Decryption Key, and 350 Bits.

Drones Location

You will spot the drones at an old, abandoned power substation sitting along the western coast of Paradise Island. Just head west from Fairfield, and you will eventually run into it. Before you even reach the building, you will run into three Protectorate Wasp MK1 drones patrolling the road.

How to Destroy the Hover Drones

Once you reach the substation itself, you’ve got two ways to deal with the drones inside. You can kill all the drones in your way through the waves of Hover Drones waiting for you.

You can also shut the whole swarm down instantly. All you need is Engineering 2 or either the Electro-Therapist or Manual Reset perks. With any of those, you can interact with the Engineering Access port right by the substation entrance and disable every drone.
