How to Get AZ’s Eternal Floette and Mega Stone in Pokémon Legends Z-A

Since Pokémon X and Y, fans have been speculating about AZ’s Eternal Flower Floette — its mythical counterpart that never got played out in a mainline game yet lived in the code. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is finally making this extended wait worth it. For the very first time ever, fans can now officially obtain this legendary Floette and its Mega Stone and Light of Ruin move.

This is a tutorial on how to acquire Eternal Flower Floette, where to acquire its Mega Stone, and how to Mega Evolve it in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

How to Obtain Eternal Flower Floette

During the main storyline, AZ entrusts his Floette to your partner. After the credits roll, that Floette remains in their care — but observant players will notice a blank space in the Mega Evolution Pokédex, hinting that AZ’s Floette can eventually become yours.

To unlock this event, you’ll need to progress through the postgame content, specifically the Infinite Z-A Royale.

The Infinite Z-A Royale

Once you finish the main campaign, you get to access the Infinite Z-A Royale, which is a replayable postgame mode where you’ll battle randomized foes by gaining Challenger Tickets from the matches.

The first 15 Reward Matches are set battles, not random. Your 15th match is a special one — you’ll face your rival, who now uses AZ’s Floette as their ace Pokémon. This battle is preceded and followed by unique story scenes that reveal more about your rival’s journey and Floette’s connection to AZ.

When you beat it, your opponent will know they cannot take the care and attention Floette needs. Fulfilling AZ’s wish, they will leave Floette to you instead.

Eternal Flower Floette Details

After the battle, Eternal Flower Floette is added to your party at Level 72 and already has its Mega Stone, Floettite. If you check its summary, you can see its Original Trainer (OT) is AZ, with Trainer ID 000001 — an emotional nod to its history.

This special Floette is quite different from normal ones:

  • It cannot evolve into Florges.
  • It has superior base stats compared to a normal Floette.
  • It also knows about Light of Ruin, a 140 base power Fairy-type that does recoil damage to Floette.

How to Obtain Floettite (Mega Stone)

If you somehow managed to bypass obtaining Floettite in your postgame adventure, you can also obtain it from the Infinite Z-A Royale mode. To obtain the Floettite, which enables Floette’s Mega Evolve, you need to play 15 Reward Matches.

There’s no alternate method to acquire the stone — this is the only way to unlock Mega Floette in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

How to Unlock Mega Floette

To Mega Evolve Floette, you’ll first need:

  • AZ’s Eternal Flower Floette (from the postgame quest).
  • The Floettite Mega Stone (earned after the 15th Royale match).
  • Once Floette is holding its stone, simply build up Mega Energy during battle and press L to trigger its Mega Evolution.
  • It is only AZ’s Eternal Floette that can Mega Evolve — regular Floette cannot, as they can still evolve into Florges.

Mega Floette Overview

The Fairy-type titanic attacker Mega Floette combines poise with raw destructive might. With its enhanced stats and new move set, it competes with the game’s best Megas.

  • Base Stat Increase: +100 (582 total)
  • Signature Move: Light of Ruin (Fairy, 140 Power, recoil)
  • Role: High Special Attack sweeper with access to recovery and support debuffs
