And as you explore further into the heart of the elven kingdom, it is there that you determine who will carry out the brazen diversion against the powerful Ghilan’nain. This choice will forever alter the course of your journey, as the chosen companion will sacrifice their life to buy time for the ultimate confrontation. Now you must determine the strengths and weaknesses of both Davrin and Harding, weighing your party’s importance to the final moments of play.
Should You Send Davrin Or Harding To Lead the Distraction
The group enters a magical portal (Eluvian) to stop the evil elven gods. After arriving at their destination, they discuss the large number of enemy soldiers. One of the group members (Davrin) volunteers to distract the enemy, but another member (Harding) offers to go instead, as she’s skilled at sneaking and spying. The person leading the distraction team will die to keep Ghilan’nain busy, giving Lucanis a chance to kill her. You won’t be able to use that character again for the rest of the story. If your romantic partner dies in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you won’t get to see the special ending scene with them.
Should You Send Davrin To Lead the Distraction
If you send Davrin and Assan away now, they won’t be able to help you for the rest of the story. Davrin bravely fights Ghilan’nain, climbing to the highest point with his sword drawn. He calls Assan to attack the god’s head, but Ghilan’nain is too powerful. She knocks Assan aside and stabs Davrin with her tentacles. Davrin falls into the poisonous pit, and Assan follows, both lost to the Blight.
Then you will not be able to use Davrin and instead have Harding. Harding can deal a fair amount of damage, but Rook is generally better suited for attacking enemies. Rook’s healing abilities, Adrenaline Rush and Soothing Potion, can also be used by Lucanis if you choose to save Treviso during the On Deadly Wings quest.
Should You Send Harding To Lead the Distraction
If you send Harding away now, she won’t be able to help you for the rest of the story. Harding will bravely fight Ghilan’nain, climbing the building and shooting arrows at the evil god’s back. But, sadly, the arrows won’t be enough. Ghilan’nain will use her sharp tentacles to hurt Harding.
This will be the last time you’ll see Harding alive as she falls into the pit and disappears, swallowed by the Blight. Then you will not be able to use Harding and instead have Davrin. Davrin can make your team invincible for a short time with his abilities On War, Victory and Battle Cry. However, Taash can also do this with Fortune’s Favor and Dragon’s Roar. Additionally, Davrin’s fire damage abilities are very similar to Taash’s skills and upgrades.
If you’re still not sure who to send, think about your Rook’s class. A Rogue Rook might want to send Harding, while a Warrior Rook might send Davrin. A Mage Rook can send whoever they don’t usually use in their team. The Companion you send won’t change the ending of the story. The ending will be determined by your choices during the quest “The Last Gambit,” which doesn’t require any specific Companion.
If you’re a fan of the Grey Wardens and like Davrin’s love for griffons, you might want him to survive and win. Or maybe you feel bad for Harding because she didn’t stop Solas at the beginning of the game. You might want her to be happy and see the end of the story.
