Should You Accept or Refuse Makal Damas’ Deal
The choice to accept or refuse the deal will appear after you defeat Makal Damas during The Cobbled Swan Case quest. The Cobbled Swan Case is a major quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. You’ll need to go to Dock Town to talk to Threads. They need your help to rescue their leader, Makal Damas, who’s been captured by the Venatori. You’ll have to fight through Venatori soldiers and free prisoners and, finally, reach Damas.
You’ll have to make a big decision at the end of the “Cobbled Swan Case” quest. Damas has information that could help you take down a powerful cultist named Bataris. But to use this information, you’d have to work with criminals. You can either agree to a deal with Makal Damas and the Threads to defeat Bataris or say no and try to find another way.
Only if you saved Minrathous will this be a choice you can make. If you save Treviso, Neve will automatically accept the deal, and you won’t have a choice. So, your decision to save Treviso or Minrathous earlier in the game will decide if you have this option; however, if you are reading this article, you likely saved Minrathous.
Should You Accept Damas’ Deal
If you agree to the deal with Makal Damas, Threads will help Rook and Neve fight the Venatori. However, you won’t be able to choose Neve’s fate at the end of her story. Instead, her ending will be fixed, and you won’t have a say.
Should You Refuse Damas’ Deal
If you choose not to accept the deal, Threads won’t help you, and Neve will fight the Venatori. You’ll have to face them alone. However, this decision allows you to choose Neve’s fate at the end of her story. Remember, if you saved Treviso instead of Minrathous, Neve will force the deal with Threads, ignoring your choice.
What Should You Choose
Choosing whether or not to accept the deal with Makal Damas will not affect your ability to choose Neve’s path in The Returned Cultist Case quest. Regardless of your decision about the deal, you can still decide whether Neve should protect or bring hope to Dock Town.
After you decide, you’ll return to the Lighthouse to talk to Neve. Once you’re done, you’ll get rewards: 2,500 experience points, Old newspaper clipping for Neve, 400 gold, and a boost to your Shadow Dragon strength. Your bond with Neve, Davrin, and your current companion will grow stronger.
