In Ghost of Yotei, the Shamisen is more than just a music, it helps you explore the world and find useful things. As you play through the game, you can learn different songs by visiting special places, helping people, or finishing certain quests. Some songs are given to you during the story, while others need you to explore the world. Learning all the songs makes your journey easier in the game. In this guide, we will show you where to find all the Shamisen songs in Ghost of Yotei and how to unlock them.
All Shamisen Music Location
In Ghost of Yotei, you can collect special songs by finding Shamisen Music present all over the game. These songs aren’t just music, but each one also helps you locate useful things like hot springs, vanity gear, wolf dens, and more. You can learn these songs by exploring, completing quests, or interacting with specific characters. If you find and learn all the Shamisen songs, you will unlock the “Like Mother, Like Daughter” trophy. Here’s how to find all of them.
Atsu’s Song

The first song, Atsu’s Song, is automatically unlocked during the game’s prologue. You don’t need to do anything special for this one; it’s part of the main story, and you can’t miss it.
Song of Spirit

The Song of Spirit is unlocked by finishing the Side Tale called “Master of the Shamisen” in the Yotei Grasslands. Once learned, this song helps you find Bamboo Strikes, which increase your resolve and make you stronger during fighting enemies.
Song of the Wolf

Then there’s the Song of the Wolf, which unlocks automatically after you complete any four Wolf Dens. After finishing the fourth, your character will sit down and start playing the Shamisen on their own, learning the song. This tune will then guide you to more Wolf Den locations found in the game.
Song of Well-Being

The next song is Song of Well-Being, which you can learn at a Shamisen Practice spot in the Ishikari Plain. This location is along the northwestern coastline. Once you learn this song, it will help you find Hot Springs on your map, perfect for increasing your health and relaxing your character in the game.
Song of Shrines

The Song of Shrines is a little bit hard to get. It’s taught by a random traveller who may show up when you make camp. To try your luck, press left on the D-pad near your horse to make a camp. Sometimes, random NPCs will appear.
The man who teaches this song might visit your camp, though it’s unpredictable. He’s most likely to show up while camping around Ishikari Plain, especially after finishing side tales like “The Bomb Maker.” This song helps you find Shrine Climb locations throughout the game.
Song of Revenge

The Song of Revenge is a bit more involved. Head to the “Musician’s Camp” in the northern part of Shizunai Woods, in the Tokachi Range. You will find a ronin playing a Shamisen. Give him a small donation, then talk to him.
He will ask you to follow him to his camp. There, you will need to build a campfire and play your Shamisen while he tells his story. When it’s done, he teaches you this song, which shows you the locations of the Yotei Six Camps.
Song of the Ainu

To learn the Song of the Ainu, you need to complete two specific Side Tales. First, finish “The Soul of an Instrument” in the Tokachi Range at the Ainu Musician’s Camp.

Then complete “A Melody of Thoughts” at the Cukpet Hills Campsite in the Nayoro Wilds. After both quests, you will unlock this song, which guides you to hidden Ainu Items.
Song of Vanity

Next is the Song of Vanity, found in the Teshio Ridge region. Look for the Shamisen Practice location west of the Red Crane Inn. Learning this tune helps you track down Vanity Gear, the armour dyes, masks, and cosmetics that let you customise your character’s look in the game.
