Since Patch 1.6, or Night of the Hunter, night vision goggles have been available in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. This much-hyped feature alters the behaviour of players exploring the Zone at night. It gives them incredibly valuable vision in spots that were otherwise nearly impossible to traverse with any degree of safety.
Aside from new stealth capabilities and counter gun aiming, the inclusion of NVGs provides yet another level of tension and strategy for nighttime combat. Some early teasers from the devs suggest an “Old Friend in Zaton” that might have some tips on where to get your first set, but the upgrades and where to get them are left to players to discover.
Night Vision Goggles Places in Stalker 2
Night vision has multiple generations, each being more performant and deeper into the Zone.
NVG Gen 1

The quality of this night vision isn’t that great, usually the first item a player will find. This Night Vision Goggle is locked behind a gate secured with a code. To open the gate, type the code, “2711”. Afterwards, the NVG can be seen lying on the table beside the window in the room.
NVG Gen 2

A better model with improved imaging is typically found in mid-zone locations or after completing main quests. It is relatively simple to find, as players just need to search a house in the Swamps region, as shown on the map above.
NVG Gen 3A

Top-quality goggles with high clarity. The best part about this goggle is that it can be easily bought from the merchant in Prypiat region. The shop can be found near Bolero Technician and the player needs to approach Bison sitting at the counter to initiate the conversation and browse the shop.
NVG Gen 3B

The top-tier version is scarce and not readily available. It is found in the Yantar region and is often associated with endgame battles. The player needs to traverse into an abandoned house where the goggles are locked behind a gate. The code to open the gate is “5578”, and the NVG can be found directly inside the room once the gate is open.
