In Dying Light: The Beast, Requiem For A Scream is a short but difficult quest partly because the entrance into the factory can be easy to miss. This guide is meant to provide you with the easiest way into the factory as well as give you some tips on how to take on the Matriarch boss and the Runners that appear when you’re in combat with the Matriarch. Follow these steps to complete the quest efficiently and claim your rewards without unnecessary frustration.
Getting Into the Factory
Requiem For A Scream is one of the shorter quests in Dying Light: The Beast; however it can be easy to miss the entrance into the factory. After speaking with Olivia at the truck, you will want to cross the water by using the container right in front of you.
You do not want to go looking for doors or windows, so you will want to climb the walkway attached to the factory. Once you are inside you will want to go down to a half-open metal door, which is where the main challenge awaits, so make sure you have plenty of healing items and you are using your strongest weapon.
The Matriarch Boss Battle
A fierce opponent, the Matriarch is the boss here. Her attacks include light lunges and charges that deal significant damage if you aren’t able to dodge out of the way. She will often vanish in smoke and then hit you out of nowhere. You can hear the Matriarch scream, which is how you will know where she is.
The strategy here is to stay close to her, dodge to the side, and counterattack when she has finished a quick attack. If she creates distance, be prepared for the leap or charge. Runners will show up while you are fighting the Matriarch, and you should take them out quickly—using a shotgun or another weapon that deals a lot of damage—to stay focused on the Matriarch.
The second phase is a lot of the same, with added enemies, so patience and steady dodges will be the key. When you finish with the Matriarch, you can then drive to the Monastery to meet Olivia.
Completing Requiem For A Scream rewards you with the Survivor Spiked Arm Wrap, 10,000 XP, 800 Old World Money.
