Love him or loathe him, Claptrap returns in Borderlands 4—louder, needier, and more self-assured than ever that he’s the most significant robot in the universe. This time, he has five optional quests spread across various areas. Each is associated with a special location, and although the rewards don’t always measure up to his hype, they’re worth doing for the XP and achievement on completing all of them.
Here are the locations of all five of the Claptrap missions, without any story spoilers.

Claptrap Mission #1: No Place Like Home
- Area: The Fadefields
- Area: Hungering Plain
Claptrap is waiting out in the open here to send you on a fetch quest. He needs assistance collecting “comfort items” from Pandora so that this new world will feel more like home. A light-hearted scavenger hunt is what to expect.
Claptrap Mission #2: Sum of His Parts
- Area: The Fadefields
- Area: Idolator’s Noose (just left of Fortress Indomita at the Racketrun POI)
Here, you’ll find Claptrap’s lost eye among trash. Of course, he’ll draft you to reassemble him. The quest goes like another scavenger hunt with his usual hype of “epic loot.”

Claptrap Mission #3: Potty Mouth
- Area: Carcadia Burn
- Area: Lopside, Embracer’s Bluff POI
Things take a darker turn here: you’ll find an AI-powered toilet that houses none other than the vengeful GenIVIV. Summoning Claptrap with the Clap Signal kicks off the longest and bloodiest mission in his quest chain.
Claptrap Mission #4: Father of the Glide
- Area: Terminus Range
- Area: Stoneblood Forest, west of Snowy Wells (Claptrap Aeronautics Academy POI)
This session Claptrap is standing on a hovercraft, waiting for you to try his “training academy.” It’s a movement challenge with grappling and jetpack hazards—sizlingly combat-free.

Claptrap Mission #5: Peak Performance
- Area: Terminus Range
- Area: Cuspid Climb, west of Heritage Opus (The Shredded Summit POI)
The final mission once more has Claptrap waiting in hovercraft form. Similar to the quest before, it’s another platforming-based obstacle course rather than a gunfight, which caps off his side questline with a playful flourish.
