The Shark Fin is a special quest item you get in Act 4 of Path of Exile 2. You will need it to start an important quest called Tribal Medicine. In this guide, we will explain how to get the Shark Fin, what to do with it, and how it helps you unlock a free skill gem as a reward.
How to get the Shark Fin
You can get the Shark Fin by defeating the Great White One boss during Act 4 of the main campaign. This item is a Quest Item, and its description says, “The sea gave it strength. Now it serves a greater purpose,” hinting that it plays an important role in your journey.
Now head towards the Whakapanu Island. Here, you will find an open sandy area near the water, which is the Shark Pit. Walk close to the edge of the pit to start the boss fight. Once you defeat the Great White One, you will get the Shark Fin quest item. Pick up the Shark Fin and return to your ship; this will unlock the Tribal Medicine quest.
How to Use the Shark Fin
The Shark Fin is a quest item you can trade in for a free skill gem. After you defeat the Great White One and get the Shark Fin on Whakapanu Island, you will need to head to the island of Ngakanu, where the tribe lives. Here, your job is to help rescue the villagers, including a woman named Kaimana.
Once you save her and help out the rest of the tribe, go back to camp. Kaimana will take the Shark Fin from you, and in return, you will get to choose a skill gem as your reward. Just remember, you have to rescue her first. This will complete the Tribal Medicine quest. If you complete The Search quest, you will also find Kaimana on your ship, in the southern part of Kingsmarch.
Rewards
You will be able to choose one of the following skill gems as your reward:
- Uncut Level 11 Skill Gem
- Uncut Level 11 Spirit Gem
- Uncut Level 4 Support Gem
Some of these rewards are given after you complete certain parts of the quest, while others are earned once you finish the whole thing.
