How to Get the SVD Sniper Rifle
The SVD sniper rifle is one of the strongest long-range weapons in Snake Eater. While you can play the game fully in stealth, the SVD comes in handy for boss fights and for hitting distant targets. Here’s where you can get it:
1. Virtuous Mission

After entering Dremuchij North, continue moving toward the eastern side of the map, keeping an eye on your surroundings as you explore the area. Eventually, you’ll come across a small clearing, and in one of its corners, the SVD will be waiting for you.
2. Main Game
Ponizovje West

From Ponizovje South, veer left off the main path to enter the optional Ponizovje West area. Make your way to the building by the pier, where the SVD can be found.
Sokrovenno South

If you miss the first SVD in Ponizovje South, another appears during The End fight in Sokrovenno South. Check the small eastern armory, inside a floating black case, the rifle awaits.
EVA

If you haven’t picked up the SVD earlier, EVA will hand it to you right before facing the Shagohod, allowing you to demolish the bridge.
Note: The SVD isn’t just extra firepower — it’s essential for certain boss fights and for taking out collectibles or enemies at long range.
