The Lost Grotto chapter in Sword of the Sea is bursting with collectibles including Ocean Seeds, Steles, Secret Shells, and Rideable creatures. All Steles in The Lost Grotto
Stele 7
Not Every War has Winners: Activate the nearby lanterns to drop sand to reveal this stele before the water ball opens the door.
Stele 8
The Great Dolphin: On a platform with crystal formations and dolphin statues, just past the next doorway.
Stele 9
The Lost Grotto: Use kelp to reach the rooftops, and the stele sits in the center of the main building in the rooftop area.
Stele 10
The Champion: Located in the same room as Ocean Seed 6, immediately to the right of the turtle mouth.
All Water Points in The Lost Grotto
First Ocean Seed
Near the beginning, you’ll encounter a floating bubble. Simply interact with it and place it into a nearby turtle’s mouth. Completing this is essential to move forward.
Second Ocean Seed
Shortly after, take an immediate left. Activating this point triggers a wall ride that is necessary for continuing along the path.
Third Ocean Seed
Pick up the water ball positioned in front of a doorway. Follow the indoor path to deposit it in a turtle mouth inside the building.
Fourth Ocean Seed
Collect another water ball, then use a wall ride previously unlocked by lighting nearby lanterns. Navigate the rooftops to reach the turtle head located on the right.
Fifth Ocean Seed
Found along the main route; this must be completed to advance the story.
Sixth Ocean Seed
Start by flipping four switches in the area to open a large gold door. This resets the environment and makes exploration simpler. Navigate the left-side wall rides to grab the water bubble, carefully dodging falling sand, and carry it back to the turtle’s mouth.
Seventh Ocean Seed
Appears on a raised platform after opening the gold door; required to progress.
Eighth Ocean Seed
Located atop a building after the previous water point. Activating it grants the “Cleanse the Lost Grotto” bronze achievement.
All Secret Shells in The Lost Grotto
Shell 11
Climb to the rooftops above Stele #7 and jump through a window concealed behind a sand waterfall.
Shell 12
In the room where a figure jumps from a ledge, drop into the hole below to discover the shell inside a large pipe.
Shell 13
Behind the building with Stele #9, an open walkway conceals this shell.
Shell 14
Climb the massive shark statue to reach the shell perched at the top.
Shell 15
In the tall-building area with activated switches, descend to the lowest level of a building to find the shell inside.
Shell 16
Take the first chain up to the rooftops of the central structures, then explore a narrow tunnel along the rooftop to find the hidden shell.
Shell 17
From the same rooftop, follow a water path to a lone building and find the shell on a side ledge.
Shell 18
Use the second chain to return to the first area, then climb the cliff near the chain to find the shell at the path’s end.
Shell 19
Follow rooftops back toward the starting area near the chain pillars; the shell is in an open section by a wall.
Shell 20
Near the large wall ride, use kelp to access a ledge above it, then follow the path into a cave to reach the shell.
Shell 21
At the chain path’s end, skip entering the building and jump across ledges on the right to reach a hidden cave with the final shell. Finding all 21 secret shells rewards you with the “Lost Grotto Shell Collector” bronze trophy.
All Special Creatures & Achievements in The Lost Grotto
Archelon (Rideable Turtle)
After activating the final water point, large green turtles appear near the shark statue. Riding one unlocks the “Archelon Rider” bronze achievement. Only green turtles that spawn post-clear count; early blue turtles do not.
Bullfrog
Behind the shark statue, traverse a narrow roof to a distant stone pillar, then jump left to find the frog resting on stacked rocks. Unlocks the “Bullfrog” bronze achievement.
Trick Attack Area 2
In a large building along the right-hand path, complete the time trial challenge by surpassing a score of 10,000.
