How to Get Sand From a Field Service Vehicle in RoadCraft

Having trouble with repeated road repairs in RoadCraft because of low sand? Relax—we’ve got a clever trick that will assist you. This speedy guide illustrates how to obtain unlimited sand through a field service vehicle exploit, making road restoration more convenient and significantly less grindy. Let’s dive in!

Quick Hack to Easily Fix Roads in Roadcraft

If you’ve been spending time in RoadCraft, you know how frequently you’re called to repair downed infrastructure. One of the largest frequent headaches? The roads. They’re horrible on every map, and it’s not always easy to repair them.

To repair them to an operational state, you typically need to:

  1. Locate sand
  1. Load it onto a tipper truck
  1. Dump it on road sections that are damaged
  1. Bulldoze over it

The actions are easy, the problem is how much sand you have to use—and how difficult it can be to continue to gather it, given there are not many sand quarries available at random.

Here’s the Workaround: The Field Service Vehicle

Fortunately, there’s a neat trick working through the field service vehicle that provides you with basically unlimited sand. It’s more of an exploit, so utilize it while it exists.

What You’ll Need:

  • A field service vehicle
  • A truck with a tipper attachment

How It Works:

  • Step 1: Position your field service vehicle in some location close to the road you’re fixing.
  • Step 2: Grab your truck, go to a quarry, and fill it with sand.
  • Step 3: Dump the sand onto the road.
  • Step 4: Instead of driving all the way back for more, do this:

Note: Press R (or D-pad Up on console) to open the recovery menu. Pick any recovery point and recover your truck. You’ll respawn at the base with an empty truck.

  • Step 5: Open the garage menu, hit retain, and close it. Like magic, your truck reappears full of sand.

Final Thoughts

This tiny tip is a huge time-saver and allows you to fly through road repairs. Just remember—it’s not a supported feature, so there is a possible chance that it could get patched out in later updates. For now, enjoy building!
