Executioner’s Pride (Walkthrough) – Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Executioner’s Pride is a dark and gripping side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, introduced with the Brushes with Death DLC update. Set in the Kuttenberg Region, this quest sends Henry on a grim scavenger hunt to reforge a cursed Executioner’s Sword using eerie, hard-to-find ingredients.

With the arrival of the Brushes with Death DLC, players also got a free update jam-packed with new content—fresh quests, new gear, and interesting side objectives. One of those side quests, Executioner’s Pride, becomes available in the Kuttenberg Region and offers a macabre yet intriguing experience.

How to Start the Quest

You’ll get a tip from the bartender at the Hole in the Wall tavern—he mentions someone named Heinz, the local executioner, is in need of a skilled blacksmith. Naturally, Henry fits the bill. To kick things off, head down to the gallows area just south of Kuttenberg, where Heinz usually hangs around.

When you meet him, start the conversation by saying, “I heard you have work for me.” He’ll explain that he needs his Executioner’s Sword reforged, and you’ll need to ask a few more questions to get the full list of materials.

Gathering the Materials

Heinz isn’t after your typical blacksmith items—his requests are a bit grim. Here’s what you need:

  • A Hanged Man’s Noose
  • A Ghostly Horseshoe
  • A Bezoar
  • A Hare Pelt

Let’s break down where to find each one:

Hare Pelt: This is the easiest item to get. Either buy one from a butcher or hunt a rabbit yourself. Once you kill a rabbit, just loot it for the pelt.

Bezoar: This rare item can show up in random loot—check chests or interact with wandering travelers in the Trosky or Kuttenberg areas. You’re guaranteed to find one up north from Maleshove, in the ruined area of southern Kuttenberg.

Hanged Man’s Noose: Make your way to a spot just north of the Sedletz Monastery. You’ll find a skittish thief looting a corpse. He won’t let you grab the noose until he’s done picking the body clean. You can try a medium-level Intimidation check to get him to leave, or wait it out. If things get ugly and you draw your sword, he’ll flee, and you can simply loot the noose afterward.

Ghostly Horseshoe: Now this one’s the creepiest. Head to the burnt-out forest between Grund and Kuttenberg (the map will mark the area for you once the quest is active). Find a tree stump there and interact with it to wait until midnight. At the stroke of twelve, a scarred ghost horse will appear—follow it to a grave where you can collect the Ghostly Horseshoe. Bonus: you can later claim the Phantom Horse as your own by visiting a horse trader.

Finishing the Quest

Once you’ve gathered all four items, the quest will update automatically. Head to any blacksmithing station nearby and craft the Executioner’s Sword. Bring the finished weapon back to Heinz.

Before it’s all over, Heinz will insist on cutting Henry with the blade to “complete” it—watch your health bar, because it causes significant bleeding. After you wrap up the quest, you’ll have the option to sneak back and steal the reforged sword from Heinz if you feel like getting even.
