Most of the old-school exploits have been patched out of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, but players have already found a brand-new duplication glitch that lets you instantly create massive piles of lockpicks, arrows, and valuable items. The best part? It works on both PC and consoles, and it’s super easy to pull off whether you’re using a keyboard or a controller.
Gamers are always on the lookout for duplication tricks whenever they jump into a new RPG, and while Oblivion Remastered cleaned up most of the classic glitches, it’s still Oblivion at heart so it was only a matter of time before another exploit popped up. This new duplication glitch is perfect if you want to stock up on arrows, healing potions, or even rake in a fortune by cloning valuable jewelry.
How to Use the Duplication Glitch in Oblivion Remastered
Pulling off the duplication glitch in Oblivion Remastered is pretty easy—you’ll just need an empty container like a chest, crate, or even a sack. You can find plenty of these lying around in the Imperial City Market District. Once you find one, open it up and hit the F key on PC or R3 on a controller to “search” and bring up the inventory menu.
Now you should see both the container’s and your own inventory side-by-side.
Setting Up the Glitch
First, place the item you want to duplicate into the empty container—make sure it’s by itself. Then, look through your inventory for a large stack of something like arrows; the number in the stack will determine how many duplicates you’ll make.
After that, highlight your inventory (on the left side of the screen) so the arrow at the top is pointing toward the container. That gets you ready to start duplicating.
Duplicating the Items
On PC: Drag and drop your stack of items onto the item you want to duplicate in the container. When the “how many” menu pops up, just press Enter twice. If you do it right, the duplicates will appear in your inventory.
On Console (PlayStation/Xbox): Hover over your stack of items, then press R1/RB + X/A at the same time. When the “how many” menu shows up, confirm twice to complete the process.
This glitch probably won’t stick around forever—it’ll likely get patched out in a future update. So if you want to stock up on arrows, potions, or make easy gold by duplicating valuables, now’s the time to take full advantage. It’s one of the best tricks to save up for a house quickly in Oblivion Remastered.
