Ahdarji’s Heirloom Quest Guide Oblivion Remastered

If you are interested in acquiring some more gold and ascending the ranks of the Thieves Guild you will be required to finish the Ahdarji’s Heirloom quest. Throughout this guide, we will guide you through the Ahdarji’s Heirloom quest from the beginning to the end so you get to understand exactly what you should be looking forward to and how to evade all the gaurds in the process.

How to Start the Ahdarji’s Heirloom Quest

You first need to be a part of the Thieves Guild and fulfill some of their initial missions. Once you have ranked up to Bandit, you’ll see that you will not receive any more standard jobs from the common NPCs.

Rather, you’ll be instructed to go to a new contact for upcoming jobs and that is how you will begin the Ahdarji’s Heirloom quest. Go to Bravil you’ll encounter your new quest giver there. In case they aren’t there when you arrive, just wait till early morning and they will turn up. You’ll have a quest marker to guide you where to find them.

Talking and Gathering Clues

The beginning of this quest is relatively easy you’ll be speaking to loads of NPCs and gathering clues. Nothing out of the ordinary so far. Don’t go too far along in the quest before stocking up on lockpicks. You will need it.

Bribing the Prison Guard

You will eventually learn you have to bribe a prison guard to speak with someone inside. You might have to sneak around a little bit in the prison. Once you meet the prisoner, give him a lockpick and he’ll give you the information you need to move forward.

How to Steal the Ring

Once you inform Ahdarji of what Amusei told you, she will vow to double your reward if you recover her ring. To begin, locate a beggar somewhere in Leyawiin. Offer them a small amount of gold, and they will inform you of a secret torture chamber beneath Leyawiin Castle, where they secretly imprison Argonians.

After you find out that, go to the castle and look for Hlidara Mothril, who is the Countess’s aide. Use the Persuasion Wheel to bump her Disposition to 70. When she’s fond of you enough, inquire about the castle’s mysteries and the Caro family ring. She’ll tell you that the Countess locks the ring away inside a box in her private bedroom and you can access it through the secret torture chamber.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Wait until 1 AM (but not on the 15th, 16th, or 17th of the month).
  • At 1 AM, snuck into the Castle Leyawiin Basement.
  • Search for a barrel with a hidden lever beside it. Pull the lever to unlock a secret passage.
  • Walk through the torture chamber, search for another hidden lever, and unlock the door to the Countess’s private chambers.

From there, remain entirely out of sight. In the bedroom, you can see the Count and Countess sleeping. Make a left to find them, but peek around the right side of the bed for a little lockbox and that is where the ring will be. If you’re unable to pick the lock, you can also pickpocket the key from the Count or Countess (just be sure to save your game beforehand).

After you get the ring, quietly exit the same route you used to enter to not get caught. Then return the ring to Ahdarji to gain your 200 gold. Next, go see S’Krivva to earn another 200 gold and be promoted to the rank of Prowler in the Thieves Guild.
