“Blood of Daedra” Quest Guide in Oblivion Remastered – The Elder Scrolls IV

If you’re making your way through Oblivion Remastered and have reached the Blood of the Daedra quest, you might be thinking where to start or how to actually get the Daedric artifact. From tracking down the shrine to navigating the dialogue puzzle with her followers, and then going into a nearby mine. We’ve got everything covered so you can complete this quest out without a problem.

How to Start the Blood of Daedra Quest

Once you’ve started the Blood of the Daedra quest (part of the main storyline), you’ll need to acquire an artifact from one of the Daedric Princes.

Azura Shrine Location

You need to head to Azura’s Shrine, since it’s one of the easiest Daedric quests to complete early on.

  • You’ll find Azura’s Shrine marked on your map, so getting there shouldn’t be a problem.
  • Once you arrive there you will find that most of the NPCs there won’t be too helpful at first and might even ignore you off entirely.

Talk to Mels Maryon

You’ll need to talk to Mels Maryon, one of the worshippers at the shrine. Initially, he will not cooperative but you can try this trick:

  • Use the Persuade mini-game to increase his disposition.
  • If you’re not having much luck, bribe him to make him cooperative.

Once his disposition is high enough, he’ll finally open up and explain what you need to do for Azura’s favor.

Offering to Azura

To activate Azura’s quest, you’ll need to bring her an item:

  • 1 Glow Dust (you can usually get this by killing Will-o-the-Wisps).
  • Present it at her shrine at either dawn or dusk. Use the wait feature to skip to the right time if needed.

After offering the Glow Dust, Azura will bless you with a task.

Azura’s Quest: The Mine

Your next step will be to complete a side quest for Azura:

  • She asks you to clear out a mine nearby that’s marked on your map.
  • The mine is filled with some challenges, but it’s pretty straightforward.

Once you finish clearing out the mine, you’ll receive Azura’s artifact, which fulfills the Daedric artifact requirement for Blood of the Daedra. Head back to Azura’s Shrine to wrap up both the Daedric quest and your main quest objective. When you return the artifact to Martin, he’ll use it in the main storyline’s ritual.
