Where to Find the Items

You can craft Iron Mace and Iron Sword at a Smithing Anvil. Below are the process of finding the items needed to craft Iron Mace and Iron Sword:

Iron Bar

To craft Iron Bars, your first step is gathering iron ore. For that, you will need to head towards the Stormtouched Highlands. Be prepared because the area always has storms and there is a risk of getting struck by lightning. Wearing bronze armor can help minimize damage.

Head along the cliffsides, where you’re most likely to spot mineral veins. Keep in mind, iron ore can look quite similar to copper, just a bit darker. You will either a Bronze Pickaxe or Rocksplosion charges. The enemies here are tougher too, so stick to the edges and stay alert.

Avoid mining at night, since spotting iron in the dark is almost impossible. Daylight is best for mining. Once a sufficient quantity of iron ore has been gathered, you may proceed to the next step that is smelting. To craft iron bars, place the iron ore and charcoal into a furnace. Upon initiating the smelting process, the materials will be converted into usable iron bars.

Oak Logs

To make Oak Wood, first focus on improving your Woodcutting skill and crafting a Bronze Axe, the only tool strong enough to chop Oak Trees. Head to the Fractured Plains, just north of the Whispering Swamp, where you can mine Tin and Copper Ores.

Now search for Oak Trees, which can be recognized by their thick trunks. There’s no guaranteed spawn location, so keep moving and chopping. Every time you cut down an Oak Tree, you’ll collect Oak Wood. The more trees you find, the more Oak Wood you can gather.

Hard Leather

To make Hard Leather, you’ll need two main materials: Adhesive and Leather. But before you can start crafting, it’s important to understand that Hard Leather requires two crafting slots, which the regular Tannery doesn’t offer. That’s why you’ll need to unlock and craft a Tanner’s Kit, which gives you the extra slot needed to complete the recipe.

To create Leather, collect animal hide scraps and put them into the Tannery. It will automatically process them into basic Leather pieces. For Adhesive, you’ll need to collect Swamp Tar from the Whispering Swamp and refine it using a Kiln. Once you have at least one Adhesive and two Leather pieces, you can combine them using the Tanner’s Kit to produce one piece of Hard Leather.

The Tanner’s Kit is essential, and crafting it requires the following materials: 6 Bronze Bars, 6 Coarse Thread, 6 Adhesive, and 18 Ash Planks. Of these, Bronze Bars are especially important, they unlock the Tanner’s Kit recipe. Without them, the option to craft it won’t appear in your crafting menu, even if you have the other ingredients.

Once your Tanner’s Kit is ready and all materials are gathered, head to your crafting area. Use the kit to combine 1 Adhesive and 2 Leathers, and you’ll successfully make Hard Leather.

Vault Shard

Vault Shards are rare and valuable resources and are found only inside Vaults scattered across the map. These shards are crucial for crafting essential structures like the Furnace, which is needed to smelt metal bars for weapons and gear. You can collect Vault Shards by opening chests or defeating powerful Vault Sentinels inside the Vaults.

There are six Vaults in total, located in key areas like Temple Woods, Bramblemead Valley, Whispering Swamp, Fractured Ruins, Bloodblight Swamp, and the Stormtouched Highlands. Each Vault has its own unique boss and offers high-tier rewards like hidden recipes. Vaults respawn over time, so you can revisit them to farm Vault Shards.

Wool Thread

To make Wool Thread, you’ll need two materials: Fleece and Soft Animal Fur. These materials can be processed at a Spinning Wheel, which acts as the crafting station for thread-making. Once you’ve built or found a Spinning Wheel, you can start crafting.

The output depends on what you use. Three pieces of Soft Animal Fur will give you two Wool Threads, while one piece of Fleece produces one Wool Thread. So, depending on which material you’ve collected more of, you can mix and match for efficiency.

You can gather Fleece and Soft Animal Fur by hunting animals in the Fractured Plains and Stormtouched Highlands. Sheep and rams drop fleece, while wolves drop soft animal fur. Among them, sheep are the easiest to farm, they’re low-level, don’t run away, and go down with just a few quick hits.

Wolves and rams are slightly tougher but still manageable. Wolves have a delay before attacking, giving you time to block or dodge. Rams are slower and can be picked off from a distance. Often, you’ll find sheep and rams together, which makes fleece farming more efficient.

Before you can start crafting, you’ll also need to build a Spinning Wheel if you don’t already have one. To do that, gather 12 Ash Logs, 4 Flax, and 2 Stone. If you’re low on Flax, head to Bramblemead Valley, where it grows abundantly near the ruins of an old town.

Once built, make sure your Spinning Wheel is placed under a roof, either at your base or any covered structure. With everything set up, you’re ready to spin Wool Thread.

With all these items, you can now craft weapons like the Iron Mace and Iron Sword.
