Goblin Swingslash Recipe Location – RuneScape: Dragonwilds Dragon Slayer Quest Guide

If you are looking to add the powerful Goblin Swingslash to your arsenal in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. This guide walks you through everything you need to know, from locating the recipe to surviving the fierce Warbands and defeating the Goblin Bruiser.

    Goblin Swingslash Recipe Location

To get your hands on the Goblin Swingslash, you must first journey to Bramblemead Valley and clear out the goblins lurking in the Village Ruins located next to the Wise Old Man’s tower. Once the area is cleared, you can speak to the Wise Old Man to initiate the Dragon Slayer Quest. If you find yourself struggling against the incoming Warbands, a clever strategy involves building a defensive structure that draws the goblins in.

From there, you can use the Windstep Spell to leap over the barrier and attack from a safe distance using Staves or Bows. To thin the horde before diving into close combat, it’s best to focus fire or unleash the Rocksplosion spell to deal heavy damage upfront.

Building a Shelter and Facing Warbands

The first major step in this process is setting up a shelter in the zone. Doing so will gradually attract Warbands, enemy parties that raid the player’s base. Goblins are usually the first to arrive, given their strong presence in the area. However, after clearing out a nearby goblin camp, the next one or two Warband waves will trigger a larger-scale assault.

Where to Find Anima-infused Bark in Runescape Dragonwilds

This attack will be led by a Tier 2 Goblin Bruiser, a formidable enemy flanked by numerous Goblin Warriors and Archers. The Bruiser stands out thanks to his spiked Wooden Board Shield, making him easy to identify. Taking him head-on might be overwhelming, but if you have unlocked the Bow can kite him toward the nearby tower, jumping between the broken platforms to safely attack from a distance.

    Crafting the Swingslash

Defeating the Goblin Bruiser offers a good chance of obtaining a Lore Piece. Once read, this unlocks the crafting recipe for the Goblin Swingslash, a powerful Tier 2 hatchet featuring a five-hit combo and a crushing overhead special attack. To craft this weapon, players will need Ash Logs, Animal Bones, and Leather, all materials commonly found in the game’s early stages.

Ash Logs can be gathered by chopping down Ash Trees, picking them up from the ground, or uprooting saplings. These trees are found all across Brynmoor and have become an essential resource for the people living there.

Animal Bones can be obtained by hunting animals like cows. They can also be acquired by casting the Bark to Bones spell on a tree.

To get leather, you’ll first need to build a Tannery. The recipe for it unlocks once you collect your first Animal Bone. To craft the Tannery, gather 12 Ash Logs (by chopping trees, picking them off the ground, or using spells), 4 Animal Bones (from animals or by using the Bark to Bones spell at Artisan level 11), and 2 Coarse Threads (crafted from Flax or Coarse Hide at a Spinning Wheel).

Remember, the Tannery only works when placed under a roof. Once your Tannery is built, you can start making leather. Simply gather Animal Hides or Animal Hide Scraps and place them inside. One full Animal Hide gives you one piece of leather, while it takes three Hide Scraps to produce the same.

With these resources in hand, players can forge one of the strongest Tier 2 weapons, giving them a significant advantage early in their adventure.
