The “Pirate Foods and Superstitions” quest is a fun and engaging WoW quest that takes you on a journey through the world of Azeroth. You’ll need to navigate through the Caverns of Time, Stranglethorn Vale, and Booty Bay to complete this quest. You’ll encounter various characters, including Alyx, Bonenose, Kelsey Yance, Mrs. Gant, and Scowling Rosa, each with their own unique role in helping you decipher the mysterious recipe of Cooktholomew. As you progress through the quest, you’ll learn about pirate superstitions and the importance of a lucky meal for a successful voyage.
How to start The Pirate Foods and Superstitions Quest
First, go to the main tent at the Caverns of Time. There, you’ll find Alyx. Talk to her to get a quest called “A Pirate Predicament.” Alyx is concerned that a group of Booty Bay Buccaneers might try to ruin the party. She wants you to talk to them and see if you can stop them. Next, follow the quest’s directions. It will lead you northwest from the Caverns of Time. You’ll see some tents on the shore. Once you’re there, find the Goblin Bonenose at the camp.
Talk to him to start the “Pirate Foods and Superstitions” quest. The Booty Bay Buccaneers are stuck not because their ship is not working fine. But they’re afraid to sail again without a special meal that their old cook, Cooktholomew, used to make. They believe this meal brings them good luck. Bonenose told us that “Cooktholomew” is just a nickname. The cook’s real name was Rufinwag. Bonenose isn’t sure where Rufinwag used to sleep, but he thinks all the cooks in Booty Bay probably shared a bunkhouse. You tracked down a potential associate of Cooktholomew’s, Kelsey Yance, at the Old Port Authority.
To start this quest, head to Stranglethorn Vale in the Eastern Kingdoms. This is located in the far south of the Eastern Kingdoms. If you’re playing as an Alliance character, fly to Stormwind and then use your flying mount to reach Booty Bay. If you’re playing as a Horde character, take the airship from Orgrimmar to Stranglethorn Vale. Once you reach Booty Bay, find Kelsey Yance in the Old Port Authority area. Talk to her.
If you can’t find her or if she’s not there, talk to Mrs. Gant instead. Find Mrs. Gant, the cooking trainer. She’s at the marked location in Booty Bay. Ask her about Cook Thamu’s bunk. The only thing left of his belongings was a barrel next to his old hammock. Inside, you found some of his notes, but they’re written in a way only he could understand.
Now, you need to find someone who can help me decipher them. Next, you need to find Scowling Rosa. She’s always moving around, so use the command “/target Scowling Rosa” to locate her. Once you find her, ask her to help you understand the notes to finish the quest. To know how to cook Cooktholomew dish read the guide on Pirate Gastronomy Quest Guide in WOW: The War Within.
