Where to Find Mega Zeraora in Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension

In Pokémon Legends Z-A: Mega Dimension, Mega Zeraora is among the simplest of the Mega Evolutions that you may miss out on. Because it’s placed behind a hidden post-game quest, which has no obvious hints on where to look or what to do, locating it by yourself can be difficult. This article will give you step-by-step directions for locating Mega Zeraora, how to unlock the quest, and how to get ready for the fight.

Before You Start

This quest will not appear until you have fully wrapped up the game. Make sure you have:

  • Finished the main storyline
  • Completed all postgame content
  • Defeated Rayquaza

Once that’s done, the hidden quest tied to Mega Zeraora becomes available.

Starting the Secret Quest

Raging Lightning is the name of the quest you are looking for, but it does not automatically come up in your journal. To accept the quest, go to the construction site highlighted on the map and enter the structure. You will see Tarragon behind a desk, purchase Canari Bread from him before leaving. Next, proceed to Vert Sector 3 and continue up until you arrive at the roof level.

Trading for Popping Candy

On the rooftops, you’ll come across an NPC kid who asks for the Canari Bread. Hand it over, and he’ll give you Popping Candy in return. If the NPC is missing, it means you still need to complete two side missions:

  • EX1 (Mewtwo)
  • EX2 (Diancie)

Both must be finished before the trade becomes available.

Crafting the Plasma Glazed Donut

The Popping Candy is used to create a special item that unlocks the Mega Zeraora encounter. Return to Hotel Z and talk to Ansha to craft the donut. You’ll need the following flavor values:

  • Sweet: 40
  • Spicy: 200
  • Sour: 400
  • Bitter: 280
  • Fresh: 40

Once the requirements are met, you’ll receive the Plasma Glazed Donut.

Finding the Mega Zeraora Portal

With the donut ready, head to the portal located near the Gare de Lumiose area on the map. Interacting with it will trigger the Mega Zeraora battle.

Mega Zeraora is an Electric-type fight, so team setup matters. Here, Ground-type Pokémon or Ground-type moves are the safest choice because Ground attacks deal double damage. Additionally, moves like Earthquake are especially effective.

Avoid bringing:

  • Flying types
  • Electric types
  • Steel types

Heracross performs exceptionally well here and can carry the fight if properly leveled.

Unlocking Mega Zeraora

Defeat Mega Zeraora, and you’ll be rewarded with its Mega Stone, Zeraorite. Equip it to Zeraora to unlock its Mega Evolution during battles.

The Mega form heavily favors speed-based playstyles. Faster attacks, quicker execution, and high-pressure combat make it ideal for aggressive setups, even when using heavier-hitting moves.

That’s the complete process for getting Mega Zeraora in the Mega Dimension DLC. As long as you’ve cleared the postgame content and follow the steps carefully, you won’t run into any roadblocks.
