Where The Light Once Dwelt Quest Guide – Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon

If you’re wandering Avalon and trying to gather a solid coalition behind Lord Yvain’s mission, chances are you’ll find yourself face to face with a lady by the name of Neante—someone whose backing would drive the whole operation forward. But gaining her trust is not merely a matter of being polite. She must witness you are indeed worthy, and that’s where “Where the Light Once Dwelt” comes in.

How to Begin the Quest

To get things underway, head to the Tarian Family Crypt, which is northeast of Cuanacht. Within, you’ll meet Neante, who won’t take long to invite you along to a nearby altar. The location she’s referring to is a short walk east of the crypt.

The Ritual Begins

As you arrive there, you’ll see that Neante is waiting for you. Inform her that you’re ready to go on, and she will start a weird ritual. Strange things happen here—you will find yourself in a transformed part of the territory, as if you slipped into another reality. Neante appears there too but visibly terrified.

Make the Right Choice

Approach her and strike up a conversation. She’s in need of some emotional grounding, and it’s up to you to provide it. You will eventually be presented with a key dialogue choice. Select the one that reminds her that she’s needed in the world—that her healing gift can indeed be used to make a difference:

“It will be, if you come with me. You have the gift of healing people, and you are needed.”

That’s the point that turns everything around. This decision is imperative to successfully finishing the quest.

Wrap It Up

After the scene ends, you and Neante are back in the real world. Neante, now complete and balanced, will thank you for leading her through the ceremony.

But you’re not quite done yet. Go back to her quarters in Cuanacht for a final conversation. With her doubts gone, she’ll pledge her support to Lord Yvain’s quest for the Holy Grail—mission complete.
