Walking On Eggshells Quest Guide in The Outer Worlds 2

Walking on Eggshells is a side quest in The Outer Worlds 2 that sends you out to track down a missing researcher and retrieve a rare Gorvid Egg. You’ll do a bit of exploring, fight your way through plenty of Gorvids, and climb up into a cave to get the egg for Head Researcher Tedford.

How to Start the Walking On Eggshells Quest

If you want to kick off this quest, just head over to Auntie’s Border Camp. It’s an easy trip from the Praetor landing pad, since you can just follow the road south until you run into Head Gorvid Researcher Tedford. Chat with her, agree to help out, and the quest will officially begin. Once you wrap things up, you’ll walk away with a nice chunk of XP, a Boarst Blaster for your trouble, and a small reputation boost with Auntie’s Choice.

Assistant’s Location

Your first job is to track down the Research Assistant who went looking for a Gorvid Egg. From the Praetor landing pad, head north and take the first fork to the west. Just keep following that path until you spot two big boulders sitting side by side. That’s your sign you’re close.

A group of Gorvid Brutes hangs around this spot, so be ready for a fight. After you clear them out, look around the area for what’s left of the Assistant’s gear. When you inspect the scanner, you’ll get four dialogue choices, but don’t stress about it. No matter what you pick, it’ll end with you turning on the device and moving on to the next objective.

Gorvid Egg Location

The egg is present inside a cave. The place is crawling with Gorvids, so gear up for a fight. As you make your way through, climb along the rocks marked with those yellow leaves and follow them all the way to the top. Once you reach the peak, you’ll spot the Gorvid Egg sitting out in the open. With the egg finally in your hands, just head back to Head Researcher Tedford at the camp, and she’ll hand over your rewards.
