V Rising Nibbles the Putrid Rat Location

In V Rising, you’ll need to take down a bunch of bosses to unlock powerful vampire abilities. Most of them are pretty easy to track down, but Nibbles the Putrid Rat is a bit trickier to find. That’s why we’ve put together this guide—to help you locate and take down Nibbles without too much hassle.

This sneaky little boss might not look like much, but he’s surprisingly tough. Still, if you want to unlock the rat transformation, you’ll need to deal with him. There are a few steps you’ll need to follow before he shows up, but don’t worry, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know.

How to Locate Nibbles the Putrid Rat in V Rising

Unlike most bosses in V Rising, Nibbles the Putrid Rat doesn’t appear on the map. Instead, you’ll need to summon him using a special structure called the Vermin Nest, and this is also how you unlock the Rat Form ability.

Summoning him is actually pretty straightforward. Just open your build menu, head over to the Refinement tab, and craft a Vermin Nest. You’ll need some Stone and Bones to build it. Once that’s done, you’ll have to gather a few specific items to summon Nibbles:

  • Unsullied Heart: Dropped by human enemies or bosses.
  • Grave Dust: Found by defeating ghouls and other undead enemies, or by grinding bones.

Keep in mind that the exact amount of resources required may vary depending on the difficulty setting you’re playing on, so it might take a little time to gather everything. Once you’ve got all the materials, place them in the Vermin Nest and choose to summon “Nibbles the Putrid Rat.”

Quick Tip: Don’t toss in extra items beyond what’s required—doing so will spawn a bunch of giant rats, and you’ll have an entirely different problem to deal with!

Defeating Nibbles the Putrid Rat and Unlocking Rat Form

Taking down Nibbles the Putrid Rat isn’t too tough as long as your gear level is above 30. During the fight, he’ll summon smaller rats to swarm you and throw in some poison AoE attacks to keep you on your toes. Still, if you keep the pressure on and stay aggressive, you should be able to defeat him pretty quickly.

Once you’ve beaten him, you’ll unlock the Rat Form ability. This lets you transform into an ordinary-sized rat. While it doesn’t help in combat, it’s super useful for sneaking past enemies without being noticed.
