V Rising: Blood Moon, Explained

The Blood Moon is a special event in V Rising that gives your vampire a serious power boost. When it’s active, you’re at your peak strength-perfect for going after tough V Blood bosses.

In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about the Blood Moon: what it actually does, how often it shows up, and how you can make the most of it. You don’t have to do anything specific during this time, but since it doesn’t happen all that often, it’s a smart move to take full advantage of it when it does.

What Happens During a Blood Moon

A Blood Moon is a nighttime event in V Rising where the world takes on a red glow. This mirrors a real-life total lunar eclipse, where the Earth blocks sunlight from reaching the moon. During the Blood Moon in-game, you get some powerful buffs:

  • All blood types get a 20% boost
  • Movement speed increases by 10%

That 20% blood bonus can be a big deal, especially with blood types like Scholar, which enhance your spell power.

How Often Blood Moons Happen

Blood Moons show up every 10 to 18 in-game days, so they’re not exactly a regular occurrence. Luckily, they won’t sneak up on you, on the day before a Blood Moon, the nighttime hours on your in-game clock will turn red. That’s your heads-up that a Blood Moon is coming, giving you plenty of time to get ready.

Make the Most of the Blood Moon Buffs

Since the Blood Moon enhances your current blood type stats, it’s a good idea to feed on high-quality blood before it starts. You can either hunt down an enemy with a strong blood percentage or use one of your prisoners.

For instance, if you’ve got tier four Creature blood, you’ll already benefit from increased movement speed, sun resistance, damage reduction, and health regen. During a Blood Moon, all of these get a 20% boost and the extra movement speed stacks with your existing bonus, making you even faster and tougher.
