In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the Twisted Tree quest challenges players to dismantle the corrupt Takahashi family in Kyoto. This assassination mission offers multiple approaches—eliminating the patriarch first or taking down each family member individually. Your choices shape the outcome, influencing your standing with key allies. This guide covers all strategies, ensuring a smooth and effective execution of your objectives. Let’s dive into the details.
How to Start the Twisted Tree Quest Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To access the Twisted Tree organization’s assassinations, you must first advance the main story with Noae. These assassinations become available after defeating three of The Shinbakufu: Ido Yoshihiro, Wada Koretake, and Wakasa. Once you’ve completed these three main quest assassinations, you can start hunting down the Takahashi Clan.
Finding the Takahashi Clan
Your mission concerning the main targets requires you to locate members of the Takahashi Clan who operate under the Twisted Tree through both scouting operations and direct ground observations.
Our scouts provide the most effective information by revealing the exact positions of the Takahashi Clan members which we have marked down for your analysis.
Finding Shiro

Location: Kyoto, Nijo Palace
The first target you are looking for is Takahashi Shiro, who is located in Central Kyoto, Yamashiro, inside Nijo Palace. He is situated in the southwest section, located next to some yellow banners, in front of the large building that has the synchronization point, next to the bridge on your map.

Takahashi Goro, your next objective, can be found at the Shokokuji Temple – close to the Shokokuji Pagoda fast travel spot. Go ahead and fast travel to this area and you will see Takahashi Goro at the bottom of the tower. Look around and find him on the ground. Make your descent from the tower, and go through the broken building as stealthily as possible and approach Goro.

Confront both enemies in combat, emphasizing engaging Saburo first—utilizing your talents and attacks to dispatch him rapidly. After eliminating Saburo, turn to Taro and attempt to eliminate him with well timed dodges and counterattacks.

Finding Takahashi Jiro

Your final target, Takahashi Jiro, awaits at his father’s estate, ready to avenge his death. This is the same area you just escaped from after your previous assassination. Head to the center of the estate, where you’ll find Jiro among a group of soldiers. Dressed in gold and brown armor, he’s prepared for a fight.
