Beneath the frozen spires of the Sleet Isles lies the Tree of Slumber, an Abyss chamber that blends tense platforming with a deceptively simple rotation puzzle. Conquer it and you’ll claim the Abyss Artifact but one misstep into the lava sends you back to the start. Here’s how to navigate the approach, solve the pillar sequence and secure the reward with frustration.
How Not to Solve the puzzle
This puzzle requires you to adjust the pillar’s height until the bottom of the pillar glows. Now, you must have seen other players who just use Force Palm to push the pillars down, and even I did that just to realise that ive been wasting my time trying to solve the puzzle in the wrong way. That’s because by the time I pushed the last pillar down, the previous pillar would just rise up again, making me repeat the tedious process of pushing it down using the Force Palm. What if I told you that there is a far better approach to solve the puzzle, let’s see how it’s done the easier way.
Solving the Pillars Puzzle
These pillars have a large device at the center, at first sight you might not think of it much but there is a sneaky mechanic that you can use to push the pillars down.
There’s a small opening on the device at the center, use the Stab skill, it will act as a lever to rotate the device. It wont push all the pillars, a slot controls 3 of them, another one controls 2 of the pillars. You can try and find the solution to find the right combination but it’s too much of an effort.
I recommend using the device to push down the maximum number of pillars until they glow, and push the remaining pillar down by using Force Palm on them while standing atop of them. This way, you at least don’t have to keep repeating the tedious process of spirit regen and force palming the pillar like I did.
Once all the pillars are lit up, then the device at the center is going to activate and it’s gonna power up the large button that you need to push in order to restore the abyss.
You can find the button half submerged in lava, I would recommend having the Force Current skill to push the button. Then head up above the button to reach the Abyss.
There you go, you now restored the Abyss successfully and completed the Tree of Slumber Abyss Challenge and can claim the Abyss Artifact.
