The Unforgettable quest serves as a deeply emotional side story with links to the Forged in Loss achievement. Missable-this quest begins early in the game and takes the player through heart-wrenching revelations, two meaningful choices, and a bittersweet ending. This guide will help you complete the quest with ease.
Step 1: Start the Quest in the Prison

- At the very beginning of the game, look at the cells positioned to the left of the cell you’re in.
- There will be an additional cell with a box in it.
- Grab the box, open it, and read the first letter.
- Then continue exploring the setting until you find another cell housing the bodies of a woman and child.
- Pick up the second letter-Father Vaughan’s Notes.
The Unforgettable questline has now officially started.
Step 2: Talk to Brother Riagán in Horns of the South

- Travel to the main city located in the Horns of the South.
- Locate Brother Riagán and talk to him.
- You should certainly mention the letters found.
- After a while, return to him and be able to speak with him a bit more.
- He states the husband is roughly 50 years old and is said to have come from Cuanacht.
- Meanwhile, he charges you with passing on the contents of the letter to him should you ever meet the man himself.
Step 3: Head to Cuanacht and Speak to Denholm
- Travel to Cuanacht and find Denholm
- Denholm will task you with finding out why the blacksmith, Erfyr, is no longer accepting orders.
Step 4: Help Erfyr the Blacksmith Cure Beor

- Visit Erfyr, and you’ll learn his friend Beor is dying.
- Erfyr needs your help to save Beor.
- Travel to the Lover’s Cave.
- Defeat the Fae and collect its heart.
- Return the heart to Erfyr to heal Beor.
Step 5: Deliver the Truth
- Once Beor recovers, speak to Erfyr again.
- This time, you’ll be able to deliver the fate of his wife.
- This triggers an emotional cutscene and completes the quest.
- Doing so will unlock the Forged in Loss trophy/achievement.
Optional: Romance Beor
After curing Beor, you can complete additional quests for him.
If desired, you can romance Beor.
- This may impact certain choices and quests later on.
- It’s also part of unlocking his support for an important NPC in a main story mission.
