The Silent Assassin is a short side quest in Where Winds Meet. It unfolds slowly as you follow clues, meet key characters, and uncover the truth behind a mysterious legend. You need to find Long Wu at the shrine, explore the Hall of Seasons, and head towards the Jadebrook Mountain. This guide walks you through each step.
The Silent Assassin Quest
To begin this side quest, start by heading to the General’s Shrine Boundary Stone. After that, continue walking north to get to the General’s Shrine. At the shrine, when you go inside, look up at the ceiling. Long Wu is normally found on the left side resting on the roof. You can just leap to get to him and start talking with him. If he doesn’t appear the first time you need to come back later, and he should show up.
After you finish talking to Long Wu for the first time, you will need to meet him again during the Hai hour, which is after midnight. To speed up time, go to the Main Menu (ESC) and change the time in the upper-right corner. Set the time to 11 PM and go back to the shrine wall. Long Wu will be there, but he will not talk to you.
Now, enter the Moonveil Mountain area. Near the Palace of Annals, use the Front Mountain Boundary Stone to get to the Hall of Seasons. Be careful of the Watchtower when climbing up; it rapidly shoots arrows, so avoid them and run up the stairs. When you reach the top, a band of robbers will confront you. You can either engage in combat with them or just escape through their ranks to go up further.
Reveal the Truth Behind the Legend
Climb the next set of stairs, and you will see Long Wu waiting. Have another conversation with him. When he inquires about the item that uncovers the truth regarding the legend, present the Buddha’s Light Jade – Yang to him. Hand it over, and he will tell that he accepted a contract to assassinate Tian Ying, the killer connected to the Breeze Post affair.
After finishing the conversation, Long Wu will tell you to meet him halfway up Jadebrook Mountain if you want to continue the hunt. Jadebrook Mountain is located in Sundara Land, so make your way there for the next stage of The Silent Assassin quest.
