If you want to start The Joy of Overworking wandering tale, head over to the Charitable Pharmacy in Crosswind Bazaar, located in the East Kaifeng Suburbs. Once you arrive, look for Physician Ren Jing and have a chat with him to start the quest.
The Joy of Overworking Quest Guide
To get the Calamus Powder, make your way to an abandoned shop close to the Charitable Pharmacy. Once you have it, give it to Ren Jing. After that, have a conversation with him about his sister and where she might be. Once this chat is done, you’ll complete The Joy of Overworking wandering tale. Finishing it will reward you with 20 Echo Jade, 10 Kaifeng Exploration points, 1,500 coins, and 2,250 character EXP.
The Joy of Overworking Quest Bug
If you ever find yourself stuck because an Encounter or Quest won’t trigger when you walk up to the spot, and nothing happens, don’t worry, it’s not a bug. It’s actually a game mechanic that’s just not explained very clearly. The game only lets you have two “Pending” Encounters at a time.
Now, this doesn’t mean unfinished quests. It specifically refers to encounters where you’ve triggered the first event or dialogue but haven’t completed the conversation to officially accept the quest into your log. If you already have two of these “half-started” encounters, the game won’t let any new ones appear until you finish or accept one of the pending ones.
